Sorry to anyone who lost on the BYU game with me last night. Pretty horrible loss but still think we were on the right side if Max Hall didnt forget how to play QB. Tonight I have 10 units riding on this game and any game with over 5 qualifies for the Bibendi Special Tag. I got a lot of hate after the last loss so if youre going to blindly tail me don't get pissed off when I lose. I am here to help people out and I state my opinion of the game. Sometimes it doesnt go as planned and I lose money just like everyone else. But 9 times out of 11 so far I have banked and everyone else too.
South Florida is entering this game on a serious low. They dropped their last outing 49-17 to a hot Rutgers team. This after losing to Louisville and Cincinnati in consecutive weeks. They have one win over UTM and thus they need to win one of their last 2 to be bowl eligible this year. With their game next week in WVU looming this is essentially a must win. This team was rated highly preseason and as high as #2 last year. Quite a fall from grace. Conversely, this Connecticut team is coming off a big win at Cuse and is currently sitting 3-2 in conference and 7-3 overall. They are already bowl eligible and have a big matchup with Pittsburgh next week as well. These teams have nearly the exact point differentials for the season and Connecticut's performances seem to be schizophrenic.
Connecticut on the road is 3-2 with wins over Temple(in OT), Cuse and Louisville. Not exactly impressive wins, but road wins nonetheless. They dropped a game to UNC and Rutgers. Donald Brown has been dominant all year and he is everything for UConn on the road. Against Temple they pounded him 36 times for 214 yards and a touchdown. Uconn missed a few field goals and fumbled the ball while going into the endzone or this game wouldnt have been this close. The quarterback had less than 50% completions for a little over 100 yards. Not very much balance, but when you have Donald Brown I guess you dont need it. Their defense played pretty well but they allowed DiMichele to run for 60 yards. Something Grothe should be able to take advantage of as hes one of the best combo QB's in the country even though he hasnt been great this year. They next played Louisville where they ran their record to 5-0 and 2-0 on the road. They truthfully deserved to lose this game. They got outgained 508 to 279 in total yardage. They gave up 261 yards on the ground and 247 in the air to a not very potent Louisville offense. Louisville handed them the win when Cantwell threw an taint with less than 3 minutes remaining. Another constant was Brown getting the ball. He got it 33 times for 190 yards. He is the offense. Funny thing is, if their old starting QB Lorenzen didnt go down, they probably would have lost. Frazer came in and played pretty well in his place and threw a TD to pull them within 21-20.They won the turnover battle 3-1 and that was the big difference in the game. Louisville should have won and had 2 running backs eclipse the 100 yards barrier. Combine that with Louisville going 0-3 on 4th down and you have a steal of a win for the Huskies. Everything that went right for Uconn against Louisville backfired in UNC. They outgained the Heels 378-263. Looks like Louisville dominated the game but if you look deeper you see that UNC just didnt have as many possessions. They blocked a punt and recovered it for a TD and had a Pick 6. They were leading 38-6 late in 4th quarter of this blowout victory. Uconn in fact had 3 punts blocked leading to short fields. This was a very gimmick victory for UNC but still thorough and dominating. Brown once again got the ball 33 times for 161 yards and they wont stray from that. They lost the turnover battle 3-1 and the key to beating the Huskies squad is making them pass the ball. Fraser had 210 yards in the air but 3 interceptions. Put some pressure on him(SELVIE) and he is forced into throws he cant make. UConn once again allowed a 100 yard rusher and UNC only had to throw the ball 16 times which shows their level of domination. They next played in Rutgers where they ended up short. They lost 12-10 in a hard fought, clean battle. Neither team turned the ball over and the winning play ended up being Rutgers tackling Donald Brown in the endzone for a safety. Brown 'only' got the ball 27 times for 107 yards in this one. He wouldve got it more but they just didnt have enough plays to get him the ball. Frazer actually had some success in the air but it didnt turn into points. Losing to Rutgers now hardly looks bad, but they werent the team then that they are now. They were 1-5 heading into this game and had still yet to find an offense. They had a field goal to win the game that hit the upright for their second straight loss. Nothing really to take from this game other than I hope tongihts game isnt as boring(it wont be). After dominating Cincinnati at home and then getting blown out by West Virginia they traveled to Central New York to play the mighty Orange. They went back to their recipe of Donald Brown running the ball to set up Donald Brown runnign the ball some more. Lorenzen was back at the helm and he completed 7 passes for 70 yards UConn won the turnover battle 3-0 and Cuse fell apart in the 2nd half as they always do. Just before the half this game was 15-14 thoguh and Cuse was finding success on the ground. Their QB ended up a putrid 4 for 16 and they only mustered 8 first downs. The Cuse defense did a pretty good job against UConn though. The last 14 points of this blowout were a punt return and interception return. So unless South Florida wants to beat themselves(which theyve been doing lately), Uconn will have a tough time tongiht. This win was more a product of Cuse beating themselves than UConn winning the game. So what will we see tonight??
UConn will pound Brown for atleast 30 carries. They hope to never have to pass the ball as they wont win if Lorenzen throws 20+ passes. Their defense will struggle because against a team that can pass the ball they havent had success. They beat Temple and Cuse who cant throw the ball and shouldnt have beat Louisville who passed all over them. They lost to UNC and Rutgers who had success in the air. There is a direct correlation here. They also need to win the turnover battle which they have a decent shot to do with how USF has been giving the ball away lately.
OK, I'll finish the writeup in 15 minutes. My fingers need a rest

Anyone who talks shit after a tail is a moron pointing out not only their inability to pick their own games, but their insecurity. fuck em.
After Utah beat a better TCU team, I wanted nothing to do with that game.
I got killed this weekend in NCAA but I made it back on the NFL this morning so I am ready to lose more tonight! I want Uconn at first glance but I need to dig deeper.

Ok South Florida has struggled of late. They hit rock bottom last week with a 49-16 loss to a hot Rutgers team. They have a great QB in Matt Grothe who should be playing better than he has been, no excuses. One huge problem hes having are his receivers just dont catch the damn ball. They have played 4 home games thus far(I'm not counting UTM) and what I'm looking for is how they can contain Brown and whether or not they will be able to have success in the air against the Huskies. I will also look into the turnover battles theyve had and from there the play should be relatively obvious. UConn has also struggled against QB's that can run with the ball. This is another major deciding factor in my play. So USF got their home season underway vs. Kansas. I had Kansas in this game and remember it vividly. USF was straight up outclassed in the first half and beat in every facet of the game. At the time this was a great matchup(LMFAO now I know). Kansas scored late in the 2nd quarter to go up 20-3 and USF had no answer for Reesing. The game turned when Grothe had an incredible TD run to end the half for USF and they went in with a 20-10 deficit rather than 20-3. They dominated the next 20 minutes to the tune of 28-0 before giving up 14 poitns to end regulation in one of the craziest games of the year. This was the good Matt Grothe. He threw for over 100 yards and USF had zero turnovers for the game. He ran the ball for probably 70 yards but sacks counted against his rushing total. Overall this is the type of QB UConn struggles against. Their RB averaged 6.5 yards a carry and overall their offense looked unstoppable for parts of the game. Tough to compare the Kansas offense to the UConn offense as thye are polar opposites. Kansas only had 61 yards rushing because they had over 350 in the air and didnt need to. But in the USF rush defenses limited action they were very successful. USF has a very athletic defensive front led by Selvie who seem to play pretty well at home. USF not stopping Reesing in the air is of little concern to me as UConn going to the air is not what they want to do. Their next home game is a better determinant as Pitt is a team similar to UConn. They dont want to pass the ball and all they try to do is run McCoy. And run McCoy they did. He was able to go for 150 yards and opened up the air for Pittsburgh where they actually took advantage. I dont think UConn will be able to do this. USF only committed 1 turnover and Grothe didnt have very much success through the air. USF was 14 point favorite in this game and I think had they been playing UConn in this spot at the same time of the year, the line wouldve been similar(Incredible Value here for USF). Once again USF was getting dominated early and Grothe led a comeback to take lead. This team they were unable to come up with the victory. Stull was able to make the plays when he needed to, if Lorenzen can reproduce that they will have a good chance. Grothe only threw the ball 21 times which is surprising b/c when they let him sling the ball and move around in the pocket a lot is when they seem to be successful. He had another touchdown run and his ability to buy time in the pocket should be frustrating for the horrible UConn defense and lead to big plays. USF dispatched of the Cuse in about the same manner that UConn did. This one was 21-13 at half but USF was able to tack on their points in 2nd half on offense and not on the defensive side of the ball. USF doubled Cuses production in total yardage and Grothe was running all over the field when he wasnt passing the ball for 248 and 3 td's. This running ability will be keyA negative about this win was USF allowed Brinkley to run for over 100 yards and he controlled the game in the first half. They adjusted to this in the 2nd half and took it away however. Not too much more to say about this game. USF only had 1 turnover so that gave them 2 turnovers in 3 games. So USF looked like a pretty solid home team until Rutgers came to town last week. It was a very good game until Rutgers scored a td right before halftime to go up 21-10. This game was defined by turnovers though. It looks like a very lopsided team with Rutgers being far and away the better team. A closer look shows Rutgers only outgaining USF by 17 yards for the game. Teel also threw for 300 yards which UConn will not do. USF lost the turnover battle 6-2 with Grothe uncharacteristicly throwing 3 interceptions. Basically it was Lemony Snickets "A series of unfortunate events". Grothe still ran for 50 yards and passed for almost 300 yards which is everythign we are looking for against UConn. UConn also does not force turnovers with high frequency. Troubling once again is they allowed 100 yards to a RB and 2 touchdowns. I chalk this loss up to the turnovers and just having a bad game. I dont think they have given up.
So to sum it up, Grothe will run the ball on UConn and sling it around. This is senior night in USF and UConn is travelling a long way to get there. Brown will run the ball 30 times for probably close to 200 yards but that hasnt hurt USF yet. What hurts them is a QB slinging it around for big chunks of yards. UConn doesnt have the passing game to do this. If Grothe can make good decisions I think USF will have a good send-off for their seniors. USF's defensive line has underproduced all season long so they should have something left in the tank tonight.
I honestly dont think this will be a close one. UConn will have to have unbelievable success running the ball and then use that in the play action game which I dont see happening. A night game in South Florida with Jim Leavitt probably headbutting 100 people will have this team ready to go. I like South Florida by 3 touchdowns tongiht and am matching my largest bet of the season with 10 units on them.

Hey man, if you read my post youd see I expect Brown to go for 200 tonight and have addressed all of your issues. Leavitt is not a bad coach either.
