Hey Guys, Sorry for the delay and the write-ups will be shorter than usual for the first few weeks until my semester is over and I can put more time into them. I'm on TCU -2.5 (currently -3 most places). It was -2 all night and early this morning on 5dimes but as I waited for them to release the reduced juice lines, the line moved to 2.5 (so essentially I paid .5 cents less for a .5pt worse line so I am definitely ticked I didn't lock in last night).
Here's the bullets on why I like this game: I actually like Trent Johnson as a coach, his schemes and principles are simple and his teams normally get out of the gate fast. He is 11-2 in season openers and 3-0 in coaching debuts with new teams. I like the angle of betting small home favorites with a new coach, especially when the offensive/defensive schemes are basic. TCU also already has a chip on its shoulder as it received every single last place vote in the pre-season Big-12 polls. They know that wins are going to be hard to come by this season and I believe they will come out tonight looking to make a statement. Also, Johnson's teams play a physical style of ball and usually a slow(er) tempo and I like the way they match up with a similarly slow (but not as athletic IMO) Cal Poly team.
Cal Poly lost 3 starters from last year's team and those players were the top 3 scorers and assist men and top 2 rebounders on the team. But more importantly, Cal Poly runs a complicated matchup zone that normally takes players a while to get a handle of. I actually have TCU as a play against later in the season and Cal Poly as a play on at the later stages of the season. It just so happens they play on opening night and I really like a lot of angles about this game and was surprised that this game opened at such a low line, I figured it would open in the 4.5-5.5 range which it looks like it will probably close at.
Remember, anything can happen, be disciplined and enjoyed yourself, this is a marathon not a sprint, lets take advantage of some weak lines early this season. Good luck with whatever you decide.

TCU -2.5 on 5dimes for 1-unit
GL KP, This game is on Directv somewhere. Hopefully it won't be blacked out. Will probably record it. I'm anxious to see what these teams look like.
