I’m 6”3 225, white, from Indianapolis, played college ball at a southern school, but wasn’t very good or better yet I preferred to chase tail and find trouble, youth! Stay with me guys, it all comprehends below…. I still enjoy the competiveness of quality pickup games and where I live the University of Huntsville Alabama has the facilities to attract the best games in town. Frequent flyer, Trevor Lacy, graces us with his presence in the summer, being a Huntsville native, and its always a pleasure challenging the 6th best scorer in the ACC. We’ll call it challenging for my ego’s sake, but I’m aging, a knee surgery, and did I mention I’m white .
I know Trevor’s game, and am a big fan, but this isn’t a guy who puts a team on his shoulders in the biggest game of his life, and shoots well, makes the correct read, good decisions, or has the wind to run the court. His confidence isn’t there coming off two consecutive bad games. But the line doesn’t soley fall on his shoulders, and its obvious that +9 shows Vegas isn’t confident either.
NC ST, doesn’t move the ball, they attack the hoop and look for calls. Big guys clean up the trash and they hang around. They compete hard and rebound!!! 256th in assist 31st in REB’s. Not today boyz , Ennis is going to do work Lacy, putting pressure on the other guards to perform outside their scope. Nova doesn’t have to be on their A game to win today, but to cover 9, they’ll need their B+.
Nova shoots 47% as a team, 13th in assist, and 23rd in PPG… These boys have weapons all over the court and will score points. NC ST is going to have trouble scoring enough point to keep pace, with officiating that lets these guys finally play physical. Nova’s weakness is on the glass, which happens to be NC ST’s best attribute. Limit the 2nd chance points, and Nova rolls 71 – 52….
Enjoy the read gents, my two cents, play of the day!
