I don't doubt a team averaging over 80 PPG, Bird. They are facing a team that is nowhere NEAR Connecticut's defensive capabilities. They will be able to exploit the paint a lot more, in which they get a majority of their points from driving layups and extra pass layups. Hasheem and Jeff Adrien won't be there to send those shots out of bounds tonight. If that is happening you have a game coming down to the wire, but if Providence is back on schedule from beyond-the-arc, they may be winning this game by 8-15. There are a lot of veterans on this team that won't let that Connecticut mishap get to anyones heads...ESPECIALLY when Connecituct went to Louisville and won by 17 points..that makes everybody feel a little better.
Providence 83, Villanova 73 (I'm thinking).
Waiting to get the O/U, because I may be pounding this over. Defense will be hard to find tonight.

Just one ?, wasn't the Defense and inside presence what most people thought Nova would lose to Pitt? I think either team could win and the over is prob the safer bet. Really like SIU. Also, is Ruffins back for Cuse? I take it no if you are playing WVU. GL today man, awesome insight as always in your writeups.

No doubt about it bracks. But what happened with Pitt-Nova (and I'm not taking ANYTHING away from the bang up job Cunningham did) was Blair saw limited minutes because of early foul trouble. If you noticed Terrence Williams--Louisville--had two fouls in 17:25 of the Lville-Connecticut game, and that all but spelt doom for the Cards. Teams like the Ville, uconn and Pitt are dependent on their big guy in the middle. The difference between Providence and Pitt--nobody said it was a good thing--is that the Friars won't exactly fall apart if say Hanke or McDermott get into foul trouble early. They have a plethora of guards that run the entire offense, and their defense, which is one of the worst in the league already, will obviously not be as effected as Pitt, who depends on Blair's 10+ rebounds a game. That hurts Providence in the long run, but in a game like tonight, I think this plays to their advantage. Insert two teams in Nova and Prov that loves to run in transition. When they aren't picking off turnovers, Pitt is a team that loves the half-court offense, so Nova played to that tempo, which helped them out without a big man to face. Here's Providence that you can GUARANTEE will run, which will force Nova back into that high-tempo style. I think in that transition battle, as of now, the guards and big men of Providence benefit more than a Nova team trying to develop more of the half-court game.
To sum it up shortly, Providence FINALLY gets back to facing a team that is smaller and that they can run with on the fast-break and transition. This opens up their assist game, which they are the best in the league at 17 a game, and it let's their veteran guards go to work on a smaller paint. Also, Dante Cunningham is getting used to facing the bigs, and playing ata slower pace. Watch him struggle a little bit up and down the court tonight when McDermott and Weynimi are on the floor.

again, with your write ups I love to see the whole picture. I leaned Nova and I am now just sticking with my original bet, which you added and I feel better about, Nova over. I expect both O's to look like the PC/SHU game. And thinking about your top play, is there a way ND does not finally say we HAVE to win this game? Gl bro and lets see some money

MC--No big thoughts on Mizzou tonight. Big 12 hasn't been nice too me lately, so I'm doggin' them right back for this week.
caduff--The over is a VERY BIG play, but I'm not making it a POD (Alpine) or next-to-POD (Fausto), mostly because I posted it later. But this still is a very big play for me.
