Two teams going in completely different directions. The Lions have been playing great football minus the 2nd half of the TNF game. The hail mary crushed their season and could result in less motivation from them but with extended time off it shouldn't be an issue. The offense has really been clicking as well as their D line. The Rams are miserable. All opposing defenses have to do is stop Gurley and Tavon Austin. They give him 5 reverses a game and he'll break 1 off but teams know they have limited options. Nick Foles is so brutal it's not even funny. That is the biggest reason I'm playing this game. Jeff Fisher will most likely lose his job after the season.
Pats -3
This is an obligatory I can't see the Patriots losing 3 games in a row pick. They're obviously super beaten up and Brady has no weapons to work with but I think he gets it done here. The Philly game was weird and without 3 return TD's they win. Although they have a banged up O-line and are facing Watt, Brady will get the ball out quickly and they should be fine. Unless Hoyer throws jump balls up to Hopkins all night long, the Texans won't score much. Houston's D has been playing well lately but that can only take them so far. Pats win by a touchdown.
Giants -1.5
Don't love taking 3 road favorites but the Dolphins deserve no points for home field advantage. They have been disappointing all season and bc of their talent they get a little more respect in the lines than they deserve. The Giants blew the game last week against the Jets but they're somehow still tied for first in the NFC east. Eli is due for one of his random great games and no better time than against the Fins. I'm not going to dig too deep into the matchups here. I just have a really good feeling that the team that actually has something to play for will win this game.

Detroit's last loss was soul crushing, not liking them in that spot. Sweeping the Packers was their Super Bowl and they blew it/got screwed again. They'll be deflated and going on the road playing a team with a losing record, they'll be far less motivated than Thanksgiving or the Packers.
I definitely think the Pats can lose 3 in a row, the Houston defensive front vs that O line WILL be a problem, and Hoyer to Hopkins WILL be effective enough to win. Houston is going to fight hard to get wins with the AFC south title in reach and it's their first primetime game at home vs the champs, I expect a huge effort. Pats bad karma is coming back on them with all the injuries.
The Giants didn't just blow the game last week, they've blown multiple games this year. It's what they do. This one will be a no play for me. I am still surprised Miami was so bad this year but the Giants is one team I am not looking to bet on because they keep finding ways to lose.

i actually agree with all the posters in this thread.
lions blew it. Rams need this win otherwise fisher loses his job. I expect more effort from a team that needs a win than one who just lost to a 2 outer.
I am a huge pats fan and again, i agree with the above poster. Brady did not lose the games. Texans prime time game as well. This is there super bowl and if they win, they actually have a shot at the playoffs. This will be a good match up but i would lean under if anything. No lean on a side, but woud have to go with Texans just because of home advantage and pats injuries.
lol wouldnt touch either team with a 10 foot pole. I still hope cowboys make the playoffs, thus i want Giants to lose. But truly coin toss.

SAW LIONS -1 AND STOPED READING... not sure what edge u think you have on that but i would say its none
Agreed. But I can think of more reasons to consider St. Louis.... Rams will start Keenan and have a new OC. Perhaps they get a spark. Detroit had a horrible rushing attack. One thing the disappointing Rams can do is rush the passer. Lions have had two horrible primetime beats TY (Seahawks, Packers). They play NO on Monday Night next week. With playoffs out of reach, should want that one much more.

I have watched the past few Pats games. They haven't looked like themselves for weeks but the refs robbed them against the Broncos and 3 return tds killed them against the Eagles. I know that's part of the game but I still like the Pats and don't believe in the Texans. The Texans d line vs the pats o line is a matchup that favors the Texans. I just trust Brady with his back against the wall. Even with those practice squad receivers. This is my least confident pick
I don't have an "edge" or "angle" to support my Lions pick but I'm kind of surprised that people are so shocked by this pick. I know their loss to the Packers was a heart breaker but they've had extra time off to forget about it and they've shown me this year they haven't quit. Even when they were 1-7. On the other hand, the Rams look like a squad that has absolutely quit. Their defense hasn't looked the same without Robert Quinn and starting Case Keenum isn't going to fix their abysmal offense. The Lions pass rush led by Ezekial Ansah has been getting better and the offense has some play makers. Both teams are down and could be playing for their coaches lives but I'm simply taking the better team here.
The Giants have been finding new ways to lose all season so that is something that worries me a little. But whenever people count the Giants and Eli out, Eli has a great game. The Giants are desperate and I think they'll beat the reeling Dolphins. They have no identity and the Giants have the coaching advantage. This is probably a game I shouldn't touch but I'm gonna roll the dice with Eli and OBJ.

Dont worry about the negative posts. Aholes will be aholes.
Texans just lost at home to the Bills. Now they play Brady who will do what he has done throughout his career. Dink and Dunk. Advance the chains, then attack with a deep ball every once in awhile.
Watt broke his hand.
-3 is a good line. I would bet on Brady over Hoyer everytime.

Not buying the Eagles because of one fluke win against the Pats. They have issues on both sides of the ball. I expect LeSean to have a huge game and Rex's D should give Bradford trouble. Tyrod is playing good football and that should continue tomorrow.

I like the Pats, Lions plays. Jeff Fisher may be the worst Coach in NFL history, at least among those that are given two decades. That team is literally as undisciplined as you will find in the NFL. Defensively they are average, even though their pieces are elite. Offensively, they are a dumpster fire because they have been built by a dude who has no clue how to build a team. Their Offensive Line is atrocious. In 2014, they could have traded out of the second pick for a treasure trove, instead they took Greg Robinson who was not considered can't miss by any scout that I follow. Dane Brugler in particular (whom I respect greatly), said that Robinson had a high ceiling but an awful floor. That draft was plentiful in interior line talent, the Rams feasibly could have walked away with Aaron Donald AND Zack Martin or Joel Bitonio (both regarded very highly as plug and play interior linemen by many scout). Both of these players were selected later, both became first year Pro Bowlers. Instead the Rams were stuck with a bust in Robinson, and they didn't even get extra picks even though it was logical that they needed a huge rehaul of their line. So, in conclusion: they used one piece to try to replace 5 faulty pieces, when they could have traded that very valuable 2nd overall pick for 3 other picks and could have feasibly taken two probowl linemen instead. Just awful on their part.
The next year, with much less talent on the board they overreach for middling prospects like Rob Haverstein. I like Rob Haverstein, but he again was a prospect who needed a lot of time to hone his craft, far from NFL ready or polished. It's like whoever is making the personnel decisions for this team is playing pin the tail on the donkey. The only thing they've done right is build a beastly D Line and get Todd Gurley.
These may seem like it doesn't effect the outcome of THIS game, but it does. The Lions have been gelling these last couple of weeks because their O Line is gelling. They have had good pieces (Laken Tomlinson from Duke, Manny Ramirez, Larry Warford... But their Right Tackle has been a turnstile. They can do a bunch of things, but seven step drops consistently are not one of them. Cooter has this team playing more of a three step West Coast system where they only seven step in the red zone to Calvin for jump balls. It's really a thing of beauty and I fully expect the Lions to beat the Rams by a significant number... at least 7.

Great info porcelain, thanks for the thoughts. The Rams have completely quit and Jeff Fisher is gone. They're just bad. Without Quinn they don't have the pass rush that can truly impact a game and opposing defenses know that Gurley is the entire offense so they just game plan for him. The Lions have been playing good ball and I think they win rather easily

I love how everyone is hating on these picks lol .. Like Rams have meant somthing since week 7-8 . Statford better QB then Case and Nick Foles. Calvin Will Tear the secondary up. As for pats i cant remember the last time they have lost 3 in a row . Maybe they havent since 2002. ANd the Giants, They have lost 5 out of 7 Losses in final drive. They will win this Straight up, Again Eli Way better then Tannehill, Coughlin Better Coach then Man Cambell, Odell will eat this secondary up ..
