not a good week for the newsletter. these things happen. maybe more often than not. for our bets, we were one late, meaningless field goal in pittsburgh from a winning week. the gambling gods owe us some backdoor covers to make up for losing the teaser on a frontdoor cover like that. we'll be waiting
only pissed about one of those losing bets. you can guess which one. i've had to do this before and it's a little early in the season but it's time to put one of you to work. someone needs to be in charge of making sure i don't bet the f*cking jets anymore. they are horrible, even worse than i imagined. i'm lucky to get out of the first two bets with just one loss. i think hugh jorman should be responsible for this since he's a new york guy and knows first hand just how bad this team is.
ok, on to this week's games. i don't have much time so i won't finish. might not get beyond thursday but i'll pick it back up later or tomorrow,
well, as i started this, i got busy again. let's check out the thursday night game just to get started.
SF @ LA -2 well, i predicted this line exactly so i don't see any value in the line. thursday night games really aren't my thing. i made the mistake of betting last week, and with good reason and great closing line value but a lot of good that did us. anyway, i'd probably look at SF if this was on sunday. two teams that aren't very good. but two teams that are improving. we went against LA last week because they opened at -3 vs. Indy, who sucks, and then opened at the same number v. Wash who is much better that indy. that is the definition of line value. no team should get a better the following week just because they beat indy. and wash losing to philly was no big deal.
other than a little of the wash/LA game, i haven't watched these teams much. i'm hearing goff is better and the rams best player should be getting close to normal soon and gurley can be good if he doesn't have t do it all. so, look for LA to be a decent team at some point. SF has some young talent but serious QB issues and that offense will have problems when hyde gets hurt any day now.
either team can win this one, hence the line. i'd normally side with the home dog but i don't like it enough to play it.
as for our thursday night system, two relatively new coaches. hard to say if one is much better than the other. looks like we'll have to wait another week to get this going.
