On to Tuesday:
1. Milwaukee Bucks +14 (-110), 1.1 to win 1 2. Washington Wizards +5.5 (-110), 1.1 to win 1 3. Detroit Pistons/Golden State Warriors OVER 202.5 (-110), 1.1 to win 1
Milwaukee Bucks-- just flat out too many points. MIL has covered this every game and MIA hasn't beaten anyone by 15 this year. Things are not going right down there and I think they know it, but if they don't care enough to put the foot down and blow out a team like CHI to open the year, then will LeBron, Wade, Bosh, Allen, all the veterans be locked in enough to beat an interesting Milwaukee squad who will be guaranteed to be up for this game based on who they are playing? Wolters was a great college player and I'm happy to see him getting minutes for the Bucks. I've always liked Mayo's game even though he is a Trojan, he plays hard pretty much every night.
Washington Wizards -- all I see here is Beal and Wall (Wall in particular) destroying Calderon at the point of attack and breaking down the DAL defense. Calderon and Monta are horrific individual defenders, and I don't know if they have the chops to stop Wall and Beal from getting whatever they want, wherever they want it. Nene and Gortat can make Dirk work on the defensive end as well. Just remember, this WAS team is really really good when Nene, Wall, and Beal all are playing. You can do things when Marcin Gortat is your 4th best player. Al Harrington also gives them a really interesting scoring option in that second unit. He's going to get his points night in and night out. Would not at all be surprised to see WAS win this one SU
Detroit Pistons/Golden State Warriors OVER 202.5 -- GSW backcourt should be able to mimic Wall and Beal in getting whatever/whenever they want when they go against less-than-average defenders like Brandon Jennings (LOL) and Chauncey Billups (super LOL). That's kinda the strategy for DET on most nights -- even if a team's guards get penetration, you got one of the best 3-4-5 defensive tandems in the East with Smith-Monroe-Drummond. But this GSW backcourt, when they can break the perimeter defense, often will just pull up for a 3 and bury teams. On the other side, I expect that DET will attack the paint and get to the FT line like they have so far this season from an offensive/strategic standpoint -- they average 26.5 FTs a game and puts them at #7 in the league. Those two factors to me say we should get a 109-102'ish game, maybe even potentially higher.
Good luck to everyone today, glad I had some free time to share my thoughts, always love reading how others approach games even if I don't always get the time to comment.
