WHO WINS? PENGUINS: Penguins hands down are the best team in the East. Will the Isles give them a battle? Yes I'm sure but unless Nabokov can just play his ass off every game I don't see how the Isles will be able to give the Penguins a run for their money. Tavares has had a great season but I just don't see them being able to keep up with the Penguins if we get into some high scoring games. Kunitz, Neal, Iginlia, Morrow, Suter, Letang, Crosby the list just goes on and on. Much like the Hawks the Penguins are deep and can score. My only worry heading into the playoffs is will Fleury have another melt down like he did last season? The only thing that helps the Penguins is that they are facing the Isles this season and not the Flyers. I wouldn't be surprised if the Penguins win this series 4-0 but I could see the Isles stealing one game from the Penguins. Penguins WON'T lose this series though. Penguins in 4 or 5 games

#2 HABS (29-14-5 63 PTS) VS #7 SENS (25-17-6 56 PTS)
SEASON SERIES - HABS WIN 2-1-1
WHO WINS? HABS: Much like the 2 vs 7 match up in the Western conference this match up has me completely torn. One would think the Habs should be the clear cut favorite here but Price has been less than stellar as of late. Will that continue in the playoffs or will be get back to form? Also for much of the season the Sens were without Anderson and Karlsson so is it really fair to judge how they played throughout the season and say okay the Sens will play like this. A lot of question marks in this series as I have already pointed out. So let's take a look at how the Habs have been playing as of late. They have won only 8 of their last 15 games. Sens haven't been much better only winning 7 of their last 15. To decide on who I am going to go here with I will look at one thing, scoring. The Sens struggle to score but allow the 2nd lowest amounts of goals out of any team. I understand defense is good but when it comes down to it you have to score goals to win games. Give me the Habs here in 6 or 7 games

WHO WINS? CAPITALS: Wow what a series we should have here! The Capitals come into the playoffs as one of the hottest teams in the NHL. Ovechkin is in tip top shape and Mike Green is playing his behind off right now too. Add Ribeiro and Backstrom in the picture and you have a team who is playing great hockey right now. That is good news for the Capitals as they head into the playoffs. Some people also like to say home ice isn't that important but I think it will be in this series. Rangers are very good at home but have been just okay on the road. I know this pick will get a lot of remarks because there are a lot of Rangers fans in this thread but I just think the way the Capitals are playing, as well as the revenge factor from last season will be a huge motivation for Washington. Keep in mind the Rangers struggle to score and the Capitals have the best power play in the league. Yes The King is good but I don't think he will be able to stop the Capitals single handedly. Capitals in 7 as this should be a tight series

WHO WINS? BRUINS: This will by far be my favorite series to watch in the East. A perfect storm is brewing in Boston and it's next stop is Toronto. Bruins have looked like absolute garbage their last 10 games. I guess the Leafs are the safe bet right? Oops nope. Bruins know they are playing terrible and if you think for one second they don't know that you are crazy. They will be fired up for this series when it starts next week. Keep in mind they usually own the Leafs anyways and this should not be pretty for the Leafs. Yes I know the Leafs have had a great season but let's be honest. Would you rather have Reimer or Rask in goal? I would take Rask in a second. This is the first time in a while the Leafs have been to the playoffs and the Bruins are use to the playoff pressure. Only thing I would be worried about is if the Bruins can contain Kessel and Lupul. Bruins D has been questionable at times so that will be a matchup to watch. Either way this series should be very entertaining to watch but I think the Bruins will just be too much for the Leafs to handle

If Crosby is back, and the way Ovi is playing as of late, that Eastern Conference Final you have there could be awesome. Not to mention a tv ratings dream for the league. Nice write ups!

These two have played a tight season series, but goaltending is king in the Playoffs, and Rask wins hands down over Reimer. Plus, expect Reimer to face 10+ more shots a game than Rask. Doesn't add up for Toronto.

I like your logic on the pens series. I think the leafs expose the Bruins in this series. They just don't have their team mojo right now. That isn't something you turn on at will. The Habs Sens could go either way. Montreal has been two different teams of late. If they show up at full strength they will force Ottawa into mistakes. If Price finds his form I don't think Anderson steals this series. I also wouldn't be surprised if Montreal falters and the Sens shut them down. Too close to call, I will lay off this series. I'm in disagreement with you about the Rangers Caps. Your comment about the Rangers not scoring is flawed. The Rangers were second in scoring only to the Jets after the trade deadline. They averaged over 3 goals a game and their PP has been hearing up. The only issue I see with the Rangers right now is their health. They need Brian Boyle at the dot and on the PK. They need Marc Staal frustrating OV. They need Clowe back. If they start this series healthy and stay that way, I don't see Washington winning more than 2. Holtby will need to be stellar for them to win. Unless Richards regresses and Nash disappears, Rangers roll. This team has four real lines for the first time in years. They stay out of the box, they will win. I can see the refs having a bigger impact on this series than any other. If they call it tIght, it will favor Washington. Their PP is just lethal with Green back to being himself. Don't be surprised if the Rangers win game one, that Caps start putting pressure on themselves. The first goal of each game is going to be big. The Rangers don't chase well but play very confidently when they get the lead. Good write up. Good luck with your plays. I'll be pulling for your Hawks.

Apparently you are one of the more respected hockey posters here...so i like that you are picking the Caps ,..,it will have the casual bettor follow you.. I am in total disagreement with you in this series... REVENGE FACTOR ////C'MON NOW, they have had 3 chance to get REVENGE AND HAVE NOT..and oh by the way.... we have gotten better since the deadline so yeah that statement about not being able to score..is so pre GABORIK.Rangers found there identity and I believe that the Rangers roll///It is time for this King to get his..ps I am a Rangers fan/././/so yeah I am biased.
