Got crushed last week. Something like 3-7 or 3-8. First horrible week of the season. I'll update records shortly. With CBB a few weeks away, I'm cutting down my plays as well as unit size (by about 25%).
I'll be voyaging to Happy Valley this weekend. Should be a helluva time.
Kansas +21.5 (1 unit) Jayhawks are awful, but this is a shitty spot for Texas with a noon kickoff and in the middle of a Baylor/Texas Tech sandwich. I don't think the Horns' defense has shown nearly enough to be laying 3 TD's on the road in-conference. Unless KU has flat-out quit, which I don't think it has, this game shouldn't be a runaway.
Penn State -2.5(1 unit) No bias here. PSU is the better team right now regardles of whether Braxton Miller plays. The PSU run defense is truly elite and is well-equipped to deal with the read option game. Belton returned on Saturday and looked terrific running the ball. McGloin has been the best QB in the conference this season (never thought I'd say that) and the white-out atmosphere will be downright electric.
Georgia + 6.5 (1 unit) Talk about an overreaction. This line was -2.5 a week ago. Florida wins by 33 despite putting up a measly 200 yards and Georgia has an understandably flat game against Kentucky, and now the line moves 4 points. Right. I'll take my chances with the better QB in a true neutral-site game between even teams.

Any thoughts on G.Tech/BYU JFen. BYU off a tough loss to the Irish.. now have to pack up and travel cross country to take on Paul Johnson's triple option. I know they have a decent D but defending the flexbone can be a bitch if the D doesn't play sound assignment D. Also not impressed with BYU's O. Thoughts?

Bense - I cannot wait. November 9 needs to get here ASAP.
Retain - Like the matchup for BYU, actually. This is truly one of the nation's elite run defenses. I think they could score on GTech with relative consistency. The spot sucks, though. Hard-fought loss at Notre Dame and a bunch of travel/no option prep time is plenty to keep me away.
House- Think Texas struggles but would be very surprised to see an outright loss. Ditto SDSU. Other two should be fine.

I like your KU play.... The Jayhawks have actually played pretty tough for the first half of their games. They lack depth and their 2nd half stats relect that. Texas will likely take them pretty lightly. I'd be surprised if they were not looking ahead to TT next week.

Cuse doesnt win much at home either. They beat up on a terrible Uconn road team and everything just fell in place Friday.I think the USF game will be low scoring. I am looking at a 24-17 type of game. I actually wouldnt touch this game straight and possibly bet the under if it is 48 or more.

Horrible typo in the first post. "Regardles." Yikes.
Doemaster - Really a straight Toledo fade. I backed Buffalo several weeks back against UCONN and don't feel they are nearly as bad as the record indicates. Probably gonna wait and hope for a better line.
Abizzo - Well aware they had a bad game. Even after that subpar performance, though, they're still 12th in the country at 3.0 yards per carry. Pretty good, ehh?
Likely leaving Cuse alone as I missed the opening line.

love Penn State this weekend also, northwestern ( iowa looks like they've checked out and are just plain bad), and wisconsin seems to be getting it together while im not to impressed with Mich. St.

BYU has padded those stats by playing the #107, #108, #109, & #119 rush offenses in the country. They've only played one Top 40 rush offense and that was #38 ND and they ran for 270 yds. GT is averaging 339 rush yds/gm. BYU does not have an elite rush defense, imo. Plus they now have to travel all the way across the country after the tough road loss to ND, and only have one wk to get ready for the option offense. Call me a homer but I think GT wins by 7-14 pts.

I do like your PSU pick. GL
Agreed. Like G.Tech this week. I guess my prior post made it seem like I was leaning BYU.

Keep in mind Buffalo has been playing without their stud RB Bo Oliver...when he's back their offensive dynamic changes.
Jfen, I'm not sure how closely you follow ACC football -- but I'm interested in this NC State vs. UNC game this weekend.
I see the Tarheels giving 7 points to the Wolfpack.
I think NC State is an absolute fraud.
They snuck by Maryland thanks to a FG that hit the upright as time ran out.
They converted two flukely 4th downs against FSU to somehow come up with that W.
Their only other wins have come against Citadel, Southern Alabama and Connecticut.
UNC returned to practice Sunday and found their locker room filled with NC State paraphernalia placed their by the coaching staff as motivation for the 5 years in a row that NC State has beat UNC.
The UNC coach has also made it clear that from the first day he was hired, beating NC State is VERY high on the list of priorities.
I'm leaning towards UNC this week but might just include them in a teaser.
NC State off two emotional wins, entering another emotional game against inter-state rival UNC...I think its time for the real NC State to show up and show that they really aren't that good of a football team.
