Broncos' spreads move with LB Miller facing possible suspension

Jul 22, 2013 |
Denver Broncos star linebacker Von Miller is facing a possible four-game suspension for violating NFL policy, according to ESPN.

Miller, who recorded 55 tackles and 18.5 sacks last season, is appealing the process say sources. The second-year linebacker was a huge part of the Broncos stop unit, which ranked second in total yards, and is taking on more of the defensive load with LB Elvis Dumervil signing with the Baltimore Ravens this offseason.

According to Jeff Sherman, assistant manager at the LVH Superbook in Las Vegas, the "only things I did was adjust Week 2 line at Giants, from Denver -1.5 to -1, and Week 3 line at home versus Raiders, from Denver -13.5 to -13."

Michael Stewart, an oddsmaker with online sportsbook, said the Week 1 spread versus the Baltimore Ravens went from Denver -8.5 to -8 at home on Thursday Night Football.

"While I don't agree with the adjustment because, in my opinion, (Miller's) not worth a half a point to the spread, our customers overreacted to the news and we booked a ton of money this morning on the Ravens +8.5 in their week 1 game versus the Broncos," Stewart told Covers.

Denver is a +500 favorite to win Super Bowl XLVIII and currently has a season-win total of 11.5 (Over EVEN).
