Lakers acquire draft rights to Clarkson
The Los Angeles Lakers acquired the draft rights to guard Jordan Clarkson from the Washington Wizards in exchange for cash considerations.
Clarkson was the 46th overall pick in last month's NBA Draft. The 6-foot-5 junior was a Second Team All-SEC performer for Missouri last season after spending his first two college seasons with Tulse, where he was a First Team All-Conference USA player in 2011-12.
Clarkson was the No. 42 overall prospect and No. 9 point guard by The Sports Xchange entering the draft. He averaged 17.5 points per game in his lone season with the Tigers, shooting 44.8 percent from the floor and 28.1 percent from three-point range.
"A solid offensive prospect, Clarkson would probably have been better served to stick around for his senior season to increase his stock," wrote TSX Senior NBA Draft Analyst Tyler Jamieson. "However, he has shown enough talent offensively to get himself noticed and should get plenty of looks from NBA teams looking to add a point guard."
