Covers teams up with DraftKings for weekly NBA fantasy contest

Covers is excited to announce an exclusive partnership with DraftKings.com for an NBA fantasy contest reserved for Covers users only. The contest will be run on Wednesdays during the NBA season and is easy to play with great cash prizes available to be won.

DraftKings.com is the up and coming daily fantasy sports site and home to the biggest single day prize pools on the web. On Dec 23, 2012 first time player Sam Greenwood walked away with $100,000 by winning the $250,000 NFL Main Event, not bad considered he only played a single entry.

For those not familiar with daily fantasy on DraftKings, it is 100% legal and a great way to get in on the action. Playing on DraftKings is similar to season-long fantasy in that you accumulate points based on how the players you draft perform in real life. There are, however, a number of key differences. Daily fantasy allows you to draft a new team every time you wish to play.

For example, when drafting an NBA team, the players could be completely different when you play Wednesday night versus next Friday. Each player has a cost value, and your goal is to draft the best fantasy team possible while staying under the universal $50,000 cap.

Once the games start, DraftKings has easy-to-follow live scoring so you can easily follow your players, watch your team accrue points, and see where you land by contest’s end. If you win, you're paid out—it's that simple.

We know that that the type of person who seeks action on game lines should have an advantage playing on DraftKings because of their understanding of the trends that shift games and player performances. If you consider yourself a sports expert, DraftKings is right up your alley.

Buy-in is only $11, and the contest will be capped at 150 participants to start. First place will walk away with $500, and the top 50 finishers will make money.  As a special promotion for this first-time contest, Covers is providing an additional $1,000 to the prize pool! The prize pool will also grow as participation grows.

Please note that you’ll only be competing against other Covers visitors.

For those questioning the legality of daily fantasy, we’d like to direct you to our new How To Play page that explains everything. In short, you’ve got nothing to worry about as it is 100% legal to play and DraftKings has a perfect record paying out its customers.
