Tiger Woods still favored to win PGA Championship

He’s 0-for-13 in majors since winning the 2008 U.S. Open, but Tiger Woods is still the favorite to hoist the Wannamaker Trophy on August 12, 2012, at The Ocean Course in South Carolina. Woods, the only three-time winner on the PGA Tour this season, is listed at 7/1 to take the final major of the season by the oddsmakers at the Las Vegas Hotel and Casino after a third-place result at last week’s British Open.

Luke Donald, who retained his No. 1 status in the World Golf Rankings with a fifth-place finish at the British Open, is listed at 15/1 along with countryman Lee Westwood. Donald is still seeking his first major trophy. His best result in the PGA Championship was a third-place finish at Medinah Country Club in 2006.

Despite missing the cut at a major for the first time since 2007 at this year’s British Open, Phil Mickelson joins Adam Scott and Jason Dufner at 25/1 to win the PGA Championship.

Fresh off his second Open Championship victory, Ernie Els will look to continue his recent success and is listed as having 40/1 odds. His best result at the PGA Championship was a third-place finish in 1995.

Keegan Bradley defeated Dufner in a three-hole playoff to claim his first major title at the 2011 PGA Championship. The defending champion is listed at 60/1.
