Pick 'n' roll: Sunday's best NBA bets

Atlanta at Boston (-14 ½, 190)

Game 7? It still seems a bit strange to think this series went the distance after Boston dominated the first two games, but Atlanta has it going and the Celtics look shaky, especially as 14 1/2-point favorites in a winner-take-all.

On home court, Boston just needs to avoid the big offensive and defensive lapses that have helped Atlanta back into the series. The Celtics should get it done to move on, but this is a huge line for a Game 7.

Pick: Hawks

Utah at L.A. Lakers (-7 ½, 213)

It could be a Showtime afternoon in L.A. today when Kobe Bryant and the Lakers get back on the court for the first time since disposing of Denver in four straight games.

The rest should be good for the team and Bryant, who will reportedly be named the league’s MVP later this week, should be ready to put on a show.

"That's what you've got to think about now: Do you play for Kobe, do you play for everybody else, do you try to balance," Utah’s Kyle Korver told reporters. "That's what we've got to figure out, and we'll probably figure it out as the series goes on."

Pick: Lakers

Atlanta sucked bigtime! How can they have let Boston blow them out considering it's a knockout game. They didn't even put up a decent fight. 29.3% field goal shooting on a knockout game? They folded up under pressure. What a let down from Joe Johnson, Josh Smith & Mike Bibby. I guess they were just lucky enough to have reached a game 7. It was a great win for the Celtics, they deserved it. The Lakers' win was too predictable. Everyone should have cashed in on this. Kobe showed that he deserved to be named MVP.

JHBuff25: Your Laker comments make no sense dude, they roasted the Nuggets alive without any help from the zebras. You sound like a L.A. hater, just my opinion. Utah gets worked today, no need for the calls, just a better squad.

Oh, genius. ATL has [serious assistance from the league] going. In the 3 games in ATL David Stern, et al have given the Hawks everything short of courtside blowj0bs @ the half. The games in BOS have been decided fairly. If this thing is even close to fairly officiated the Celts are going to hand the Hawks their fools in a plain brown wrapper. UTA @ LAL: The first leg of the last night's playoff series were clearly feeling out games and I don't expect much different here...except that UTA clearly has a level of intensity that the Lakers had no need for against the "we don't play no stinkin defense" Nuglets. I wouldn't be surprised to see LAL come out flat footed and shootig cold. However, don't be surprised to see the Lakers playing with a few extra men (wearing striped jerseys) on the court.

Line Alert on Lakers game - IMO line is off a little bit on this game - Lakers should have been favored at least double digits - But Why only 7!. Ummm I have a feeling that Jazz will cover the line today - 7

Brs77, yeah thinking the same way. why? because game 7 and cant be the same 3 twenty point blowouts? law of avgs here. Celts ought to methodically win each quarter like the other 3 home games... but.... Dont know why I am not feeling the blowout today...

I can't believe the Lakers line, this one should be a blowout because the Jazz can't score on the road. The only thing that will keep the game close is the Lakers' rustiness after the layoff. I am hitting the Lakers hard today!

Boston will win but won't cover the spread. Utah will have a difficult time containing Kobe, Pau & Lamar. I say the Lakers will win by 10 point or more.
