Excellent write-up and I agree with all the points you have made. I remember last year when Seattle played the NY Giants and then later returned to the same stadium to play Denver in the Super Bowl. The comfort level in a stadium cannot be undervalued here and is a definite advantage. I will keep my post short and simple with a few observations I have seen from over the years. Defense wins championships in every sport. Take the team with a proven rushing attack and balanced offense. Bet on the best present team, not on a team's legacy or past. Bet Seattle and if you can afford it, take them again, and again, and again, and again.........

Why are they not the fav? Or were? If all the stats, #s, point to them winning...why are the books chalking them points?
Because the spread opened as a pick'em and the public has a love affair with Peyton Manning who is 11-11 all-time in the Playoffs. |

I agree that Houston is the play here for many various reasons but I don't think it is a "play of the year" pick either. Houston may finally have hit rock bottom but you can never be certain. Kansas City doesn't exactly blow a lot of teams out either though on offense. Arrowhead is a tough place to start your career at but I think Houston will be run heavy and may have some success that way. Houston +6.5 for one unit and maybe a sprinkle on the moneyline too. |

It's a shame that the entire Political focus for the next year will only be on whether to vote for Obama or the Republican Nominee. I compare these options as being able to vote for a turd or a turd with peanuts in it. Either way your voting for something that is going to stink. The only hope is Ron "Ernest" Paul and yet he is discarded by the wayside because his ideas make sense. So tell me, who would you rather vote for?? |

Nice to start to the season last night with a pretty good game. I had BC +6.5 and under 53 so the questionable play calling at the end of the game actually went in my favor for once. I'll take 1-1 versus 0-1-1 anyday, lol. For tonight I'm going to chase the under. I tend to bet mostly under's anyway and in the CFL this has been a good angle for me the last few seasons. The staggered starts are great because there is only one game going at a time so you can wait and see if you need to place your next bet. With only four games a week there is almost always one under and if they don't hit one week you better believe they will be hot the next one. 1st game: Winnipeg/Hamilton under 51.5 2nd game (if needed): Toronto/Calgary under 51 Best of luck with your picks and enjoy the season, |

KC +101: This game started as a -130/+110 which usually indicates a dog fight. I always take the +110 in these situations and KC is getting some love as they now sit at +101. Only 18% are backing them at my Sportsbook but that is not fooling me. This one will probably not have much value but I will side with the home team trying to avoid the sweep. KC/Arizona Under 8: Both pitcher's enter in fairly good form and the bullpens have not been terrible for either team. KC's bullpen has been overworked recently but they are a little better at home. Again I don't think there is much value in this play but the under seems to be hot at the moment so I will ride it. St. Louis/Philadelphia Over 7.5: Carpenter will get some run support but will give up some runs too, hence the over. I also like taking the +105 versus the -125 on the under. This being the last game of the night plus the low scoring game in everyone's mind from last night, fading the public seems like a good idea. |

Me too but my sportsbook has him listed fourth behind Pawlenty, Daniels +500, and Romney +250. Last week late at night I saw Huckabee playing the bass with The Rolling Stones keyboard player who was on his show promoting his new book. They played "Tumbling Dice", lol. I thought "This guy has what it takes to fool America."

Ron Paul: The Last Nail is being driven into the coffin of the American Republic
in Politics
On the surface Ron Paul seems like a great alternative to Obama and whoever is the Republican Nominee. The problem is that politics and America's "Democracy" are an orchestrated illusion by the power's behind the scenes that run this country and the world. Ron Paul is just another piece in this twisted game. I've read a few articles suggesting that the people who vote for him will be documented by the U.S. Government and this could be used against them later on when things get worse. My advice to everyone during next year's election is.......don't vote.

I was thinking of taking Tim Pawlenty at +500 and Mike Huckabee at +700. Thoughts, opinions?? |

There are many reasons why I like this bet. First, I always take the +170 versus the -200 on the moneyline and this has been very profitable for me in all sports. Second, Chicago has not lost 2 games in a row in over 2 months. Third, Chicago is better defensively than Miami. Fourth, Chicago is a much better rebounding team than Miami. In conclusion Miami has the most talented player's but Chicago has the best TEAM. |

I think Toosharp has a point. How can one team be that much better than another when the season has barely even started? I think that's all he meant when he said they are basically the same team. Atlanta did dominate the last series but if Milwaukee had a little more timely hitting and if Greinke had a few more starts under his belt they could have easily got the split.

Going with Seattle because everyone is on Texas, and the under. The under is 6-0-2 in Lewis's last 8 starts vs. Seattle and with the weather conditions tonight and both teams not hitting so well in their last 3-4 games, I think it's worth a shot.

I just turned it on, and it is really strange. World Championship is spot-on! Isn't it funny how these stories always break in the dead of night too? I just wonder how this all fit's into the bigger agenda. What do you know? Right before re-elections too, funny how that works. Makes me wonder if we already had Osama's body in the refrigerator and were just waiting for the right time to pull him out to show everyone?

Yes, my friend. There are some things in life that never change and one is the Dodgers bullpen. When the Government is letting us down we can always count on the boys in blue to lose a close game or even a 3 run lead and blow what appears to be a sure under with 2 outs in the 9th. Many times in the same game, lol.

When you wake up in the morning the U.S. will still be as bad as the night before. The price of gas, groceries, and just about everything else you need to survive will still be the same if not higher. People will still have their college degree, and some a Master's or more, and not be able to find work. The U.S. will still be fighting 3 other wars around the world and planning for the next one and when you turn on the radio you will still hear some of the worst music produced in the last 10 years regardless of what station you listen too. At the end of the day or at the start of another one, when you turn on your tv and see the latest talking head telling you that Osama is dead or that Kate and William are married, please turn that shit off and think for yourself just exactly what is going on in the world today? |

Just in time for re-elections too! Funny how that works. One more distraction for the American public to feel good about while the economy and U.S. in general continues to suffer. Royal Wedding on Friday, Osama dead on Sunday, must be a busy week behind the scenes where the real action is going on.

This was a tough one for me to handicap. I saw that the over was 22-6 in these teams last meeting's and like you said, the wind is blowing out hard which makes me think over. What makes me think under is that Chen and Baker have been pitching pretty good recently and both teams seem to not be hitting the ball that well recently either which makes me think under. As with most over/unders this one will probably come down to the bullpen.

Great bet if you take the Celtics at +170 in my opinion. Veteran teams win on the road in the Playoffs and the C-notes should have no problem splitting the first two. If I remember correctly they were 3-1 against them this year in the regular season? Let's not forget either that win the game is close the Heat have trouble deciding who should take the last shot and if they lose a close one I think they start pointing fingers. Personally I think Lebron is not a very good teammate and when push comes to shove he tries to do too much. Lastly, I don't think taking the underdog is ever a bad option and as already mentioned you will have some interesting hedging opportunities as the series progresses.
