It feels like a sufficient amount of negativity here propelled DefenseWinsSB to a gutsy win with the soon-to-be 4-22 White Sox.. |

LAGameofInches, great post. I think it's hilarious that the Lakers and Dodgers both won phony plastic rings in 2020 and still pretend they're proverbially encrusted with diamonds.

Feels like a huge positive momentum situation. Also encouraging is the fact that the Kings finished the regular season by winning 9 of their final 10 home games.
Or how about losing Game 1 by more than 2 goals and then winning Game 2 by one goal? |

If LeBron James was a more realistic father, he would strongly encourage his son to play all four years at USC and get himself a college degree. Then he can take a shot at the NBA if any team is interested.
LeBron ought to put away his wish to play in the NBA with his son. Bronny isn't nearly good enough at this point and LeBron is running out of time. And what kind of weird team dynamic would that create anyway? Any teammates of LeBron and Bronny would have to be careful at all times about what they say of either father or son. Joking around would become a risky proposition because you can't criticize the dad and you shouldn't risk teasing the son. |

The Lakers proudly hung that banner on the wall at crappyname.com Arena. Does anyone think Dr. Buss would've done that? I say no fucking way. |

This is just me, but if I was a ring-chasing, legacy-chasing shoo-in future Hall of Famer in the twilight of my career, and my net worth was over a billion freaking dollars, I would agree to play for $1 under the condition that my team pay my $50 million salary in the form of raises for my teammates and a couple of strong free agent signings.
Maybe LeBron will do that. Yeah, right. There's never enough money for LeBron, and he doesn't care where it comes from. |

The Oilers went 3-1 Over this season in that situation, but the three overs all occurred early in the season when the Oilers were bad. This was prior to the coaching change. Then after a 5-1 home loss to the Panthers on December 16th, the Oilers went to Long Island and won 3-1. The situation did not occur again this season. |

The Kings have played zero Friday night home games over the last two regular seasons. They played one Friday night home playoff game in each of the last two seasons, and whaddaya know - they were both Game 3s against the Oilers. They lost 8-2 in 2022 and won 3-2 in overtime last year. |

I did not know that, but indeed they are. One home loss in the last 47 days. A couple of those wins were over the Blackhawks, but still, 9 outta 10 is a great way to head into the playoffs. |

I'd like to know the results for Game 3 home dogs who lost Game 1 by more than 2 goals and then won Game 2 in overtime. I got a feeling they do well in this spot. The crowd at crappyname.com Arena gonna's be sky high for this one after the A.K. boys brought that win home on Wednesday night. |

I just saw that thread from Wednesday. That was hilarious. Yeah, you seem to have knocked some salt loose from his private area, lol. He can't handle any criticism, but he doesn't mind dishing some out.
And yes, Michael Jordan was the greatest. Six championships and a perfect 6-0 record in the Finals, including back-to-back wins over Utah Jazz teams that were so worthy of at least one championship. But, MJ wouldn't let it happen. Sick as a dog in a crucial Game 5, but whatever. Wouldn't let it happen. |

I made this thread to mock Lebron for bragging about that pathetic 2020 bubble chip. So again your gut let you down. What else is new. Nice call on the Lakers last night. Your "king" let you down, too.
Wait, no he didn't. His sad, stat-padding layup with 16 seconds left (when the Lakers needed a 3-point attempt) helped you sneak away with a win with your over 216.5 -120 that you had no business winning. You got there by the hook thanks to 22 points being scored in the final two minutes, so you were lucky AF to not drop both of your 50* plays. Hey, did I use that asterisk correctly? There should be a huge one stitched into that 2020 fake championship banner. It should be the size of a basketball. |

This is from LeBron James after the Game 3 defeat....
"We've been -- me and this guy [Anthony Davis] have been playing together for six years," James continued. "We've been to the mountaintop. We've been close to the mountaintop. We've played a lot of games. We know what it takes to win. We know what it takes to win a championship and how damn near perfect you got to be."
Okay, so when said "We've been to the mountaintop", was he referring to the pretend championship the Lakers won four years ago at the summer camp tournament near Orlando? And when he then said "We've been close to the mountaintop", was that another Orlando reference? It sounds to me like "We've been close to the mountaintop" is a pretty specific reference to Space Mountain at Walt Disney World in Orlando. I remember LeBron did quite a bit of complaining during the 12 weeks the Lakers were there that the "bio-secure bubble" felt like a prison. Is he still complaining four years later that he and Davis weren't allowed to ride on Space Mountain even though it was close by? Or are both "mountaintop" comments in reference to Space Mountain? Did he and Davis get to ride the thing or not?? Did they get to ride it once, but were then prohibited from riding it again during the remainder of their stay in Florida? Is that what he's saying?
Lakers fans with better recollections, please clarify for me LeBron's latest passive-aggressive postgame commentary. |
