My book set Fed's line today vs. Jeremy Chardy, but I see now that he's playing Benjamin Becker. My bet still exists and hasn't been no-actioned in case there was a last-minute change of the schedule (which would be odd in itself since I don't remember ever seeing that).
Any one else see the same thing on their books? |

Sportsbook still has graded the wager and I've noticed some changes in several sites' official box scores since the game ended, namely ESPN's. It originally was posted as a FG at 9:03 left in the first quarter, as was NFL.com's. But about an hour ago, both were changed to 8:59, meaning I, like you, would lose if that's the case. Such bullshit if so. Although, to even have the chance to hit that prop, we got pretty lucky --- muffed punt, short run, followed by two vintage Rivers incompletions, where he underthrew both his wideouts and then held up his hands looking for a flag. BOL on getting yours counted. I fear mine won't. Remember, this is the SAME site that gave its Packers bettors their $ back vs. Seattle for those who wagered overseas, while its affiliate here in the U.S. did nothing of the sort. I'm sure they'll find a way to say it doesn't count. At the very least, just no action it and give me my $ back.

I know Shortell might've played (and he looked good last week) but my book is listing "no significant injuries" for the Gophers, and that would inclue Gray. Although, I did a further search and it looks like you're right. Appears he's out. Gonna have to send an e-mail to those folks and ask them to whip flunkies who are supposed that stuff with a flystrip full of nails. :) Well ... that would explain the line, but I still think it's worth a flyer with Shortell under center. Iowa is just ... that ... bad. |

Yeah, you're right about one thing: no more trying to figure this one out. Just gonna bet Minn. on moneyline and parlay it with another dog I feel good about for a nice chunk. Time will tell if I'm right. Did same with UM and K-State last week and what I snagged there woud've paid for my whole weekend and then some had I lost every other bet (which, of course, I didn't). Anyway, Cups .. thanks. BOL. |

Pray tell, what makes you think Iowa can win this game? That's what I can't fathom. Granted, Minnesota is no world beater. But 4-0 against a so-so schedule, is 4-0. And their QB is mobile and can beat you with his arm or feet. That makes for a long day for Iowa's slow, smash-mouth defense that doesn't like finese teams and loves to just bottle up the run, snag a few sacks, score 17 points on offense and call it a day. Problem is, THIS Iowa offense blows. And this is not your grandaddy's Iowa team that once was always formidable. Seems like that program is going down the tubes with all the trouble its players have been in and this may be the last week Iowa is a fav or a team as good as Minnesota will be this small of a dog against them.

And while we're at it ... Missouri +2.5 at UCF? Feel the same about that, really. Just strange. It reminds me of that FSU line a few weeks back when everyone was jumping all over Wake at +28. My theory is that when Vegas sets a line that's too good to be true, it probably is. FSU 52, Wake 0. |

Yeah, she ain't bad. Shame she quit doing porn. Lol. So you're with me on Iowa? Makes no sense right? And I guess in this case, best thing to do is stay away? I usually don't seek out advice, just soak it what I read. But this line TRULY boggles my mind and I know someone has to have some insight here. |

How in the world is this right? Iowa may be one of the most disappointing teams this season and have looked awful in both its wins and losses. What am I missing here? |

I've never been to this site or posted before, but when I watched the Oakland-SU ending Sunday night, I went and sought out conversation such as this to see if I anyone shared my feelings about what happened.
Why? Because in all my years of watching basketball --- I'm 45 and have been betting on games since I was 18 or 19 --- I have NEVER seen anything like what happened this evening. And I have watched games that ended up being fixed/shaved that I had no idea were fixed/shaved when I was watching them. This was too obvious folks. Reggie Hamilton is a seasoned vet who didn't just LOSE his mind in the final two minutes of a quarterfinal conference tournament game and start making ridiculously bad decisions against a team Oakland shoulda beaten by 15. And I watched this entire game --- the ebbs and flows of every back and forth lead change and momentum swing throughout --- and this smelled rotten the entire way (in hindsight, I admit) knowing now how it ended. FACT: Oakland spots them a big lead early, then Hamilton takes over the game (just like he knows he can against an awful team like SU) and has 20-something before halftime to keep it close because --- as other posters have eluded too -- he didn't WANT to lose the game.He wanted it closer than 11 (specifically -5 1/2) with 2 min to go. Period. And here's why I firmly believe that: I disagree strongly with anyone who thinks he WOULDN'T "throw" his final college game. Come on, folks ... when you're about to go out in the "real world" and have to earn a living --- and Hamilton isn't going pro anywhere but (maybe) the Donkey League in Lithuania, and he knows that ---- then what better time to START throwing games and earning an envelope stuffed with cash? I mean, this is your final chance to make some real money. And he wasn't trying to lose because he knew he had the rest of this po-dunk tournament --- which had, like, 8 people watching this game live in that shitty ass gym --- to shave/fix a few more, while also contending for a conference title, pride and a chance to reach the Big Dance. It makes perfect sense. Don't believe it? Re-watch the BCS National Championship game between LSU and Alabama and apply the same theory to LSU QB Jordan Jefferson. I mean, rumor is that the kid was gambling in Harrahs the night before the game. Then he goes out and plays like he's never played the position before in the biggest --- but FINAL --- game of his college career? Psshhh ..... |
