You will notice I pick a lot of favorites (but not always)
1) I know that's somewhat pussified, but I figure Vegas knows a lot more than I do, so sometimes I give credit where...well you know. 2) Playing point spreads, if the favorite covers, also pays a lot better than straight up money lines (Duh...well tell us something we didn't know Eddie) Well after that useless bit of knowledge...here are my week one picks. Write-ups may occur in the future, I'm just too lazy this week... Alabama (-20.5) ov VTech - yes, I bought the half point hook. Wisc (-45) ov UMass. A lot of points, but I'll take my chances against Who Mass !? The only problem with spreads that big is when it becomes a blow-out, the starters are pulled, which can lead to a greasy backdoor cover. BYG (-1.5) ov Virginia - Close one, but BYG has the firepower. Good Luck everybody

Off Topic -The Dayglo Abortions are a seminal Canadian Punk Rock outfit, that boosted such luminary members as Cretin and fool. Their classics included "Hide The Hamster," "Stupid Songs" and "Acting Like Black Sabbath"

WOW DoubleUp...That is some AMAZING capping. I'm assuming by all the time you put in that this is your full time gig for you. My head was spinning just reading it all. Congrats, you're having a great NFL season so far. Sorry to hear that you're leaving the forum. Don't let the pousers on this forum get to you. Anyway, will you be posting your picks anywhere else, where I might be able to keep up, and learn some valuable handicapping skill? Let me know, and I,ll keep up with you. Best of Luck my Friend

I agree, the pitching is pretty even. I gotta go with the hotter bats of Arizona. Plus the value is great for an ace like Hudson, who can hold his own. Also a gut feeling that Kershaw will sht the bed tonight |

The Only Good Thing About The Tennesse Thrashing Is....It makes me feel a little better about my DETROIT LIONS!
They are in Deep S##T with all their injuries, and all around bad playing, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't win another game this year! And that's coming from a HUGE homer.

I don't know who uses this book on the forum, but is anyone having trouble getting on to www.sportsinteraction.ca? It either times out before I can get on, or when I do get on before I can pick out a catagory it times out. Something tells me the book took an ass-whooping today, and everyone on the site slowed down the server. I was hoping for a little late night action but it dosen't look like that's gonna happen if I can't get on? Thanks for any input

First of all I lost my ass (more on that later). But I had the greatest time ever! Las Vegas is like it's not even on this planet. That place is a whole nother world! Left Detroit at 5:52 AM..got there 7AM there time. Got to Harrahs with a comp room for the trip, my buddy gambles a bit more than I do, too early to check-in, left the bags and went to Ellis Island for breakfast. Decent food but the staff and cock-tail waitress looked like the wait staff at the Last Supper with an average age of 600+ yrs. I find the bigger the dump, the fuglier the staff! Got the Hell out of there after dropping a quick twenty. Anyway I had my first beer walking down the strip at about 8:30 AM...that was way cool! Anyway, basically the first day we walked the strip, played cheap black-jack (5-10 dollar tables) and even went to the SAHARA (dump) for $1.00 Black Jack and beer. I eventually got up a whooping $14.00 and played roulette with the worst roulette dealer of all time. She would spin the ball within ten seconds of paying out the last spin and your chips would be gone before you could see the number on the wheel. She would also let people bet until the very last second the ball dropped. I think I even never saw her wave "no more bets" on a few occassions. She was brutal and a prune face to boot! She looked like the North-end of a South Bound Pitbull. I left there pissed, and about $20 down, and nursed my anger with more beer besides the 3 free ones I had there playing blackjack. It wasn't the money it was the shitty unprofessionalism. What do you expect for $1.00. Anyway that night after dinner we went to Fremont Street (old Vegas) which is way cool lots of beer, babes, cheap gambling, and live music. The bus ride back was hilarious because this black guy eveyone called "Baby Shaq", you had to see him to see the amazing resembalance, was cutting up on all the passenger, and singing and dancing. He was a crazy-ass Mofo and he needs a show on the WB or BET or somewhere NOW, he was the shits.
The next day was (sat) was spent checking out all the sports books Bellagio, Wynns, Caesars, Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Flamingo, Planet Hollywood, and a few others, and deciding where we would watch and bet on Sunday.
By the way Harrahs was a great hotel, middle of the strip, but the sports book is lame. Our first choice was Caesars but the book was booked solid for guests of the Hotel, and high rollers that bet at least 10,000 one dollar bills a month (LOL). We finally settled on the Wynn (beautiful women everywhere) spent the rest of the day in the Diamond Members lounge where I had the greatest most kick-ass Long Island Ice-Tea of all time. It was so good I can't even remember the bartenders name...but God bless you sir!! The rest of the day was spent swimming, gambling, and drooling over 10AM football the next day.
One side note Emeril Laggasse opened up this sports bar called "The Stadium" next to the Venetian. It is un-f**King believable!!! The main "Stadium" part are all these plush white leather chairs and couches with tables, set up like a large multiplex movie theatre. And in front are HUGE plasma screen tvs. The rest of the bar and restuarant surrounds it, with TV's everywhere. You have to see it. It is amazing. So we tried to book a couch in the Stadium section and the minumun required was $150.00, and as far as I understood that didn't even include food or drinks, and it was sold out anyway. The rest of the seating in the bar ran from $25-$75. Anyway no deal.
Anyway along comes Sunday. I lay a $50 three game parlay (yeah, I know big spender!) on Dallas, Minnesota, NY Giants and another smaller parlay with the same games and added GB for a total payout of $450.00 US (I'm Canadian..so that's big bucks). Anyway, I got the NY Giants at (-6.5) Well we all know about the Washington fake field goal, and the Giants defense collapsing in the last two minutes, that killed the spread. Anyway much red-ass throughout the sports-books. Anyway, more gambling drinking, and Fremont Street again in the evening.
Monday was coming home day. That was spent drinking, a little gambling and souvenier shopping before the trip home. I came home broke...but I had a killer time. This may become a yearly event!
One last thing...are you aloud to slap around those stupid Mexicans clacking their stupid escort trading cards in front of your face when you're walking down the strip! That was driving me ape-shit!
