What is your methodology, brother? Are these system picks?

Well brother, I just found this place by chance. I have been playing horses since 1993 or so. Really interesting game, I'm always looking to learn. I started tailing some people on paper and found out that their ROI was negative, sometimes way negative. So I got curious, you know, what motivates people to continue to post bad pick after bad pick? Do they put their own skin in the game or are they just jackwagons that are posting the equivalent of lotto numbers? Is anyone making any money here? Those sorts of questions. I'm always looking to learn. Do you read a lot of Rand, brother? What are your favorite works by her?

Cool brother, I notice that you make a lot of value selections. You've had some big days. It seems to work well for you. How much value do you place on jockey/trainer combos?

Interesting brother. What do you think of Brohamer's pace handicapping?

No I do not raise it but each play could differ. each is 2-5% of the daily bankroll unless i decide to go big (only did that 3 times all year). some are lower than others if I know I am reaching a little bit for price or the race itself has more expected variance. in race 1 today that was a smaller play. race 2 and race 4 were one unit each. race 4 had one unit divided in half on the W and P. Nice brother, I like your strategy. Are you up on the year?

I don't think you're irresponsible necessarily, it's just not something I would do. I just found this forum, so I started to do some checking on ROI and thought I would post to try and figure out how people are making money doing this. Do you make money, brother?

There are so many ways to think about this problem. You could go with jockey/trainer angles, class rating, speed, money management. What is your *primary* method of handicapping for success?
