WV has really struggled offensively the last 3 games since blowing the late lead at the Phog in Kansas.
Won in the Colisem in 2 ot's against TX Tech. No cover.
Won in the Coliseum against TX who is winless on the road. No cover.
Was life and death @TCU and survived 61-60 when the Horned Frogs missed a wide open shot at the buzzer. No cover.
Esa Ahmed did not make the 2 game road trip for the Mountaineers with a lower back issue. This is bigger than you think. He is by far WV's most talented and physical big man. WV's depth has a guy in the armor here.
WV stayed in Texas. Baylor has been sleeping in their own beds the last 2 nights. These are kids not hardened pros as far as travel goes.
Baylor got blown out Jan 10 in Morgantown when they were #1. Revenge?
Bears trail Iowa St and WV by 1 game in the Big 12 standings.
Big 12 teams now playing for seeds in the Big Dance and Baylor could still be #2 in the Big 12 if they win this game with @ TX on deck. And Iowa St @ WV next Friday. The Mountaineers are hard to beat in Morgantown. Not necessarily so on the road.
And Baylor coming off a loss at the Hilton to the Cyclones.
I see pg Lecomte and Wainright handling the full court pressure of Press Virginia with some easy buckets and turning this into a half court game when that doesn't happen.
WV not as likely to get as many second chance points on the offensive glass against Motley and Acuil. In fact those two may get some put back goals of their own.
The Mountaineers are not a great shooting team by any means. Continue to struggle from beyond the arc. And have a well documented history of blowing critical foul shots late.
I think Scott Drew will be ready for Huugy's bunch in the rematch.
This game opened at a pick 'em. Now Baylor -2. It is a fair line.

Lecomte doubtful. If he plays and Ahmad doesn't I may jump on Baylor ML even though Baylor is overrated in my eyes. Revenge and senior night even though wainwright is only senior. Again that's if lecomte plays and Ahmad doesn't. BOL man!

I understand the under play. It opened 135.5 and is now 137.5 The o/u is low for a reason.. If you have noticed I mainly play under on totals or not at all. The game is always under until it goes over and the public almost always favors the over. I think most players would agree that these two teams are in most everybody's Top 10 in team D.

Thanks for the update on Lecomte's status Brian7479. I have not seen that anywhere but your info on Baylor may be better than mine. For sure Esa Ahmed did not make the trip. If Lecomte can't go his backup is fairly solid. I still like Baylor's chances regardless.

Yes Jags it is down to a pk 'em. Off the board in a few places. My guess is it is due to Lecomte's status. I have read that Scott Drew is calling it a game time decision. Hopefully he can go here. If not I am comfortable with Jake Lindsey.

Even if Lecomte plays, playing on a bum ankle against WVU is a recipe for disaster. With or without Lecomte, they won't be able to take care of the ball. The revenge angle doesn't mean as much when the teams are even and the other team is motivated. It's not like they're bitter about losing to a team that they should have wiped the floor with. They were a 5-6 point dog in the first game and lost, as expected. There's no revenge angle here. There's the #1 team at taking the ball away against one of the worst teams at taking care of the ball.

Baylor holds WV to a 22-59 from the field for 37%, as predicted, 2 below Baylor's year long %, and contains WV to 3-15 from behind the arc. Bears hold the Mountaineers to 62, 4 below their season average of Baylor Team D. WV's offensive struggles continue in a half court game. And WV continues to blow crucial free throws down the stretch. The Bears absolutely destroyed the Mountaineers down low, +20 on the glass. Kudos to Baylor pg Jake Lindsey with more assists than turnovers and 6 huge points down the stretch to wreck WV as Lecomte's replacement, who I stated I was comfortable with as the replacement pg.
