Knicks F Carmelo Anthony out versus Kings

Dec 28, 2012 |
New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony will not play against the Sacramento Kings tonight due to a hyper-extended left knee.

New York opened as a 4-point road favorite in Sacramento and has since dropped to -3.5.

Anthony missed Wednesday’s 99-97 win over the Phoenix Suns. New York pushed as a 2-point road favorite and is 3-2 SU and 1-3-1 ATS without its All-Star small forward in the lineup this season. The Knicks are just 3-3 SU and 1-4-1 ATS in their last six games.

The Knicks have been stricken with a rash of injuries in recent games, losing PG Raymond Felton until February with a broken finger and losing veteran forward Rasheed Wallace to a foot injury until March. New York is still without forward Amar’e Stoudemire and guard Iman Shumpert.

Anthony is averaging 28.5 points per game - second in the NBA in scoring - and grabbing 6.2 rebounds a night.

The total for Friday’s game has moved from 199 to 197.5
