Trump has politicized law enforcement to make US less safe.  Replacing experienced personnel in FBI and justice department with loyalists to threaten political enemies, remove investigations of allies and gain more power for himself.  Weakening government ability to fight serious crimes.

History shows minority governments are better than majority governments in most countries because bad policies are less likely to be implemented.  It is unhealthy for one party to control all branches of government.  Checks and balances are necessary to prevent abuse of power.  Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Trump administration has executed a wide ranging crackdown on freedom of speech by targeting the press, lawyers and protesters.  Freedom of the press foundation recorded over 3,000 social media posts by Trump attacking the press.  To silence critics, dictators often use threats and lawsuits.  Control of media and war against truth are among characteristics of fascism.

Unlike other presidents, Trump engages in a lawless and crude crusade against legal and illegal immigration.  Demonizing immigration as invasion.  Revoking legal status of almost one million legal immigrants.   Banning immigration from some countries.  Separating children from families.  Undermining legal pathways to immigration.  Podcaster Joe Rogan calls immigration raids insane for arresting workers who contribute to US economy instead of criminals.  Now polls show most Americans disapprove of Trump immigration policies.

Kaiser family foundation expects the cost of healthcare insurance through Obamacare to jump next year.  Trump big ugly bill rejects extending subsidies to reduce premiums.  As a result, Congress budget office expects some loss of coverage in population.  With fewer people insured, insurers must spread costs among a smaller group which push premiums higher.  Also Trump administration threatens to impose 200% tariffs on pharmaceuticals.  Many drugs are manufactured overseas.

Biden administration kept title 42 policy to expel 2 million migrants from 2021 to 2023,  After pandemic emergency expired, Biden administration deported more migrants in 2024 than in any year since 2010.  Myth is that US has an open border.

Error in grid planning for Trump administration to order coal power plants to keep operating despite retirement plans by utilities.  Unnecessary to force customers to pay billions more for the most unreliable power plants.  Coal power is a dying industry.  75% of coal plants are over 40 years old, exceeding their expected life span.  Coal has shrunk from 50% of US electricity generation in 2008 to only 15% in 2025 because of competition from cheaper gas and renewable energy.  Now 90% of new electricity comes from wind and solar sources.

Pelosi reveals why republicans are so afraid of defying Trump insane policies.  They or their family could be attacked.  Authoritarian regimes rule by intimidation and ruthlessness in retaining power.  Suppression of dissent and glorification of violence are among characteristics of fascism.

Associated press estimates rollback of environmental regulations could lead to additional 30,000 deaths each year.  US needs more electricity but Trump chooses the worst solution.  Over the next decade, electricity cost is expected to increase in every state because coal and gas cost more than wind and solar.

ABC news report that Trump administration's plan to limit rental assistance to two years could cause 1.4 million poor households to lose government subsidized housing.  Tenants are mostly working families with children.

Trump administration cuts to foreign aid could lead to 14 million deaths worldwide in the next 5 years according to UCLA study published in Lancet medical journal.  

In addition, cuts could lead to nearly 100,000 more hospitalizations each year.  Consequences of delaying healthcare can be severe and more expensive.  Medical debt is expected to increase by billions.  Projections are likely an under estimation because changes to Obamacare haven't been counted.  These conclusions are similar to study published in Annuals of internal medicine.  Under Trump administration, Americans become sicker, weaker and poorer.

The Hill reports that republican Hawley has introduced a bill to repeal Medicaid cuts that he voted for. Obviously, Trump big ugly bill is the worst in modern history.

20 states sue Trump administration to block FEMA from cutting grants to fund infrastructure to protect against natural disasters. Alleging that FEMA has no authority to withhold funds approved by congress. Poll shows most Americans believe government could have prevented Texas flood deaths.

Most economists accept that net effect of immigration is positive overall for US economy in the long term.  Legal and illegal immigrants contribute to economy as workers, consumers, tax payers and entrepreneurs.  But Peterson institute study also found that mass deportation would harm US economy.  Unlike other presidents, Trump undermines legal migration.  American enterprise institute reports that US will likely experience negative net migration for the first time in 50 years.  Shrinking US work force, tax revenue, consumer spending and economic growth.

New Yorkers know Trump best and many refuse to do business with him.  He has a history of fraud and cannot be trusted to honor deals.  Besides, countries don't like to negotiate with terrorists because that may encourage them to make more demands.  Tariffs usually serve two purposes.  Protecting domestic industry and raising revenue for government.  But some domestic industries aren't worth protecting.  US would be better off with cheap imports instead of expensive local goods.  Also income tax is more efficient in raising revenue than tariffs.

Most immigrants arrested don't have criminal records.  With excess spending on immigration, funding is diverted from law enforcement for fighting real criminals.  Historically, there has been no healthy law enforcement agency that expands too quickly.  Detention facilities are substandard, hiring standards are lowered, training cut short and inexperienced ICE agents make more mistakes by arresting too fast.  American immigration council warns costly mass deportation could reduce US GDP by trillions.  However Center for American progress estimates legalization of illegal immigrants could boost GDP by trillions.  

On Fox news, Trump advisor Stephen Miller falsely claims that if all illegal immigrants are deported, there would be no waiting at hospitals, no lack of school funding and no drug deaths.  He is responsible for Trump's racist and draconian immigration policies.

Shameful that top chief law enforcement officer just declared that those who commit fraud and destroy government property on purpose, can expect to get away with overt criminal misconduct.

Economist Krugman says Trump mass deportation is unraveling because it is based on lie of massive crime wave driven by immigrants.  Now ICE is having a hard time finding criminals to arrest.  But mass deportation of workers could hurt US economy with labor shortage.
