JJWoods - Do you think that talent will be ready and gelled in week 1 to upset Ga Tech at home in week 1? I know Coach Sanders will have them pumped up at home which is at election, but is that enough to sustain against a marginally talented but well coached Georgia Tech? I believe the current spread is GT -4. |

ok, jwoods, formerly known as Wolfman before he was banned, I will be kind to Coach Sanders…Honestly, I have not bet against the Buffs since the early stages of his tenure at CU. I am impressed with what he has been able to accomplish at a previously downtrodden program. The move to the Big 12 has helped some. I have had my differences with Spottie, but I respect his takes. I will not be betting against CU to start the season, but I will take a wait and see. Coach Sanders seems to be having some health challenges, so I hope that he will be able to overcome those challenges. The college football scene is more interesting with him in it…I wish you a successful college football season…

You have been vastly incorrect and disrespectful to the incredible turn around in Boulder. And not just “for the most part lost” Let’s be honest here… you 100% have missed on Deon Sanders. the joker is clearly you J Woods |

That's a fair question...I am researching a few. Nothing booked yet...I call these leans... I welcome feedback...
Week 1 Texas Christian -3 over @North Carolina - Not a big fan of Dykes, but I think the line is a tad low...TCU has the QB, systems, and defensive mentality to win and cover. I realize NC opened as a 2 point fav and has crossed the line... Fueled I will assume by the sharps... I am not sold that Belicek will be a successful college coach...Tapping that young ass gold digging Grandpa Complex girlfriend of his, I think he lacks focus on football...Sans Brady, Belicek would not have won even one SB...New systems, new coordinators, new QB in week one...I think TCU is hungry... Indiana -23.5 over Old Dominion - potential homer pick...IU won't surprise anyone this season...and yes the line is probably inflated due to IU's success last season...and ODU has a good coach and an experienced QB...I think Cignetti has reloaded in the portal and NIL...and is integrating a new QB (tr from CAL), which I believe will be plug and play...to go along with a nasty D...He seems to be the type of coach that will keep scoring well into the 4th period...in front of the home crowd...The domination that N Dame put on my Hoosiers reminded Indiana that its still Indiana...I think Cigenetti and his Hoosiers will want to assure the Indiana faithful that last year was not a one year fluke. That and I am sure Cignetti coached against ODU while at JMU when both were D2, in Virginia...And will want to make a statement...And yes, I am a homer (and an Indiana University - Bloomington alumnus MBA 2000), and a long suffering Indiana fan... I think Cignetti runs it up because he can... Others I am researching in week 1, Alabama -12.5, and Nebraska -6.5 (though it concerns me that highly respected capper Bridge is on Cinci)... How's that?

I like it, but I probably won't bet it, for fear of cursing it...The better D will belong to Texas... |

The Seattle manager should be terminated due to gross incompetence...You take 5 to 0 lead into the 8th, and lose...Disgraceful... |

Spottie et al What is your early take on Georgia Tech v. @Colorado? I know you have been a big advocate for Coach Prime since he arrived at CU. Now he enters year 3. As of 10 July 2025, GT is a -3.5 road favorite, playing at elevation, against a talented CU team, that lost some elite talent since last season. Would love to hear your thoughts and perhaps a lean ATS on this match up? Thank you in advance. |

Wise as in WiseGuy that I knew way back when...of Las Vegas? If so, great to see you posting...I like Indiana, Nebraska, TCU, and Georgia Tech as leans ATS in week 1...Ga Tech playing at elevation...and Coach Sanders will have the home crowd fired up...I have bet against the Buffs ATS a few times since that joker arrived on campus, and for the most part I have lost...Playing devils advocate...here...Haynes King was a highly regard recruit when he signed with Fisher and TAMU...CU has the transfer from Liberty and a highly regard fish QB. Will it be plug and play, or will there be growing pains in week 1 for CU. King had a great year at GT last year...

Great Prep work Bridge!
I like a number of your plays. One that brought me pause was Cinci in week 1 over Nebraska ATS. Nebraska seems to find creative ways to lose games. I think this game is in Kansas City, which would imply a quasi home field for Nebraska. I would think Nebraska would be very motivated to to start off the season with a convincing win over a somewhat depleted but well coached Bearcats squad that is expected to finish in the bottom third of the Big 12. And I would think Neb would have an advantage at QB. Thus I am leaning Nebraska -6.5. I would appreciate your rationale for backing Cinci ATS. If you have already posted it in this string, please let me know. I wish you a successful college football season! |

Spottie - I like the technical angle and you know I love favorites...;)
Do you have any concerns about 3 of the 4 teams you listed integrating new quarterbacks in week 1 covering such collassal spreads? ...or would that be already factored by the books in the spread...Sure, these are talent and coaching mismatches...Marshall is a ClusterF***, Cignetti likes to run it up on an old D2 foe from his JMU days, as does Kiffen, and Smart not so much...But, should one consider factoring in a new QB in otherwise sound analysis early in the season? Penn State should average 45 plus a game...Nevada almost beat SMU in Reno last season in week 0... week 1 : Penn st vs Nevada Georgia vs Marshall Indiana vs OLDD Miss vs Georgia St
Thanks for the post. I wish you a successful college football season.
