It is not fake, but Trump (or his experts—I wouldn't be surprised if Trump didn't know how the EU worked) is deliberately misrepresenting what it means. Ursula von der Leyen is a marionette puppet. The EU is not a country, so it has no leader who can make decisions on its behalf. Every decision pretty much has to go through a voting process where all member states have to agree on things, and every state has veto rights. As you say, she can't make business decisions on behalf of its member states, but if they all agreed, they could "force" us to buy military equipment, etc. - so if its member states agree to this deal - it will be a reality - but I would question a lot if they will - because as I have said a billion times in here - we could completely annihilate you economically if we wanted - and they are primarily doing this because they want you to either help us with Russia or at least take a chill pill while we try to take care of us not entering a global nuclear war

Just because something was accepted in the past doesn't mean it should be the standard for the future. If they said that and weren't punished, we should be bigger people and show that we won't stoop to their level. It's wrong to call people pedophiles if they aren't, also because it minimizes how serious a crime it is. In a world where your congress approves the president can make trade wars with the world and where EU’s member states also agree so this agreement will go into effect - I don’t think there is any possibility you will keep tariffs on EU for any substantial amount of time - it is not dolls and cheap crap you buy from us - it is advanced machinery, luxury items, expensive cars, Pharmaceuticals etc. (15% tax on top can make a simple purchase million dollars more expensive) - what would be the end goal of that ? The reason you buy these are because you either can’t make it or we make it way cheaper or better than you could - and it is stuff you need to have (with some of them and if you are rich want to have with the rest)

But yeah I think getting Canada back on your side is the most important - because much of the “hate” Trump get from other countries is related to that - it isn’t “nice” what you do to Mexico either but we don’t feel attached to them to the same degree - even though we for good reasons don’t have the same relations with Canada as you do - we like them a lot and Netherlands, France and UK fucking love them - and all those three countries have a lot to say here 

That we are the biggest trading correlation in the world is one thing - but you are also the biggest military power in the world and we control almost all international trade - so let’s just say a war between those two would not end pretty  - in the end I hope we end up with zero tariffs and everyone paying their share of NATO - because tariffs isn’t good for anyone - and if you guys feel used in NATO that has never been on purpose - but your earlier administrations have gone out of their way keeping the world situation and military balance between us as it has been 

I am actually very glad for them because a trade war between our two blocks could go way out of control - but Trump is telling you a lie on the assumption you guys have no clue how EU works - a “deal” made with Ursula means nothing - since EU is not a nation she doesn’t have any signing powers - so trade talks with her isn’t worth much more than if he would have them with me - she needs mandates from the EU member states before being able to sign them (it is actually normally the worst thing about EU that it takes ages to get an agreement on anything - it is a hell hole with Veto rights etc. Brexit took years of getting that “trade deal” agreed on)

To stay within Trumps analogy - you have very good cards - the best in the world no question (let’s call it double aces in poker) those are around 83% to win versus a random hand - if you face 5 opponents with 10 random cards it is suddenly below 50% to win - you don’t have cards good enough to even have a remotely chance of winning on a table versus the world - so be careful not ending in that situation - and maybe his tactics are a joke to you - but it isn’t to the world
