Why all the love for Pittsburgh tonight at Washington?
Are people basing their thoughts on Pengs winners of last (2) and Caps losers of last (3)?
A few of my thoughts:
Penguins defeated Caps in 1st game of season…I don’t put much into this. However, Caps have defeated Pengs last (2) games they have played each other this season. The (2) wins by Caps has more value to me than the opening night win by Pengs.
Caps 9-6 in home games last 15
Penguins 4-11 last 15 on the road
Caps 7-7 when dogs at home last 14
Penguins 2-7 as road favorites last 9
Penguins have a horrible season and don’t deserve to make playoffs! Since Jan. 1, Penguins are 16-24 and that includes 2 wins in April.
I like this stat:
Caps 10 of last 15 home games have combined with their opponent to score 7 or more goals.
Again, I was leaning Washington in this game tonight vs Pittsburgh and for the game to reach and maybe exceed 6 goals; Until, I read all the love coming out for The Penguins. And I just don’t understand why!
I am still leaning Washington and OVER, but might not risk as much on it as before.

Washington for me. Yes they are coming off 3 losses in a row. But now at home against a team they shutout in their last meeting could be good medicine for the Caps. I'll stay away from the o/u play.

As a long time Pens follower, the only thing that I will add is the Pens win in DC and the Caps win in Pittsburgh the majority of the time. It is a weird series.

Pens have been playing good hockey and a lot better defense in front of Ned. If they can continue to produce on special teams, this team can still make a run for playoffs. It’s just all dependent on who wins the special teams battle IMO. 5 on 5, I give the advantage to the pens in this game.

I like the Capitols. They have played pretty well after losing by 3+ goals in their last 7 games in that spot. The Penguins have played better lately winning 4 of their last 5 and 3 wins as 150+ dogs. So no surprise to see love for them. Good Luck!
