It's always difficult to go against the high powered Penguins, but i will for tonites matchup VS the Bruins. Boston is 6-1-1 at home VS Pens since 04 and have won there last 2 home openers (Bruin home opener tonite). Bettors might be looking at the line (currently B's -130) and think that Pens have value, but i think the bad guys are trying to set a trap. Pitts hasn't been playing very well on either D or O. Their 4-1 victory VS the Leafs can certailnly be ignored as the Leafs are the worst team in the NHL this year. So until the Pens show me more, i'll stick with Tim Thomas and the high flying Bruins. GL
Boston Bruins -130 ( i haven't placed this wager yet as i can safely say that it will drop)

All the numbers and trends are pointing to Boston in the this one. BUT Thomas = swiss cheese. My gut is saying that Pit wins this one. When Boston has played against a good goalie this year, they have lost. Price and Backstrom. Won against bad goalies, Budaj (4+GAA, and Gerber (3.46 GAA) Fluery would be considered a good goalie IMO (GAA under 2.5).

Boston's record is misleading. They've played as well as anyone this season, trust me I've watched every second of all their games so far and the only reason their record isn't better is because of goaltending. They've outplayed every team so far.
As for losing to good goaltenders: They still scored three goals on Price and four goals on Backstrom. Their goaltending will get better as time goes on with Thomas and Manny. Thomas is a slow starter historically and Manny has not played many games over the last couple years. Needs to get into his groove which he showed signs of doing in a win against Ottawa.

I've watched every Bruins game this year and I agree with you that Boston has outplayed the opponent in every game. In the Montreal game they played poorly defensively for about a 5 minute stretch. In minnesota they dominated the first and third periods and played poorly in the second. They've scored 5,3,3,and 4 goals in each game and I think they come out on top tonight in their home opener.
