Trends and historicals favor Dallas but I am a believer of the current/circumstances and the best hockey player in the world (Cale Makar) plays for the Avalanche.

Yeah McDavid didnt have his best season...I watch all teams play and I dont think anyone was more impactful than Makar.

Btw, many advanced stats (game score) support this...

Exactly...McDavid is above his talent overall...Maker is the best D man but not overall player.....perspective is great but check the stats comparatively...

 Disagree. Makar is a great overall defenseman who contributes offensively unlike any other D in history. I gueas you could argue Bobby Orr but thats way beyond my time.

C'mon, Makar cannot even be mentioned in the same breath as Orr.

Today, Makar may very well be the best d-man in the league. McDavid is the best overall player, followed closely by the Avs McKinnon.

Case closed. 

It's all good...it's makes for great discussion....both will be in the Hall of Fame...I just believe McDavid will be a higher overall ranking and election overall....Cheers

 This was nonsense, do better. There are literally advanced hockey models that measure total impact and Makar ranked above McDavid in many of them.

McDavid a superb talent and one of the best evrr, Makar is just that good right now imo

Alright....wish you the best in judgment....hopefully both stay healthy and we will see in about 10 years or more....

Also for the record, it is close between the 2 and I dont even think Makar has played up to his potential in this series. I expect him to show up tonight...if he doesnt and McDavid tears it up in the playoffs, I ll change my opinion.

I'm a retired Airline employee that's enjoys gambling on Sports recreationally.....bit of entertainment hobby....been following Sports...mostly Hockey and Football for betting.  Followed Hockey since a was a child and yes a little bit at the end of Bobby Orr days...tail end but he was still playing...

 Cheers man, I wouldnt say recreationally myself...I ve been betting on sports as a side hustle for 20 years now. I ve done really well in baseball for about the last 10 years, progressively better. I do decent in NBA too.

Hockey is more recreational at this point for me, despite it being my "favorite" sport, my returns dropped significantly over time. I was killing it from 06 to 14ish...started to decline to the point that I d rather put my energy/time towards baseball.

Good stuff....I've bet a little Basketball and baseball....not as familiar with those 2 so much....love the Hockey and NFL...just seem to have better knowledge and definitely more interest....I only post once in awhile and play quite often in the Hockey Forum. Good luck on the other Sports and enjoy the game tonight.....I have Future tkts on Oilers to win the Cup....can't get past the taste and disgust in McDavid on last year's trip to the Final....there's always something about going to the Final and losing and then the crazy determination to get back to win....I believe the hunger in McDavid will prevail....Florida went to the Final the year before and then beat the Oilers the next year...I'm going with the same scenario with the Oilers this year....for now enjoy the game tonight should be a dandy between 2 powerhouses...unfortunately one has to lose...maybe the NHL will change the future playoffs format...Cheers

I know what I see and what I've seen and neither lie. 

There's a scene from braveheart where a man comes to see a young William Wallace and says "iam your uncle." What he actually says in the scene is "Iam your uncle Cale Makarrrrrrrrrr!" Pretty sure that's how it goes
