I mean the playoffs were actually pretty predictable in terms of the angles I believe in up to now.
Sure, there were some shocks or strange results but mainly 1st rd with the heat. Other than that home teams dominated, home teams that lost game 1 were romping game 2 every time, and almost any dog covers were also straight up wins. Teams that were down 0-2 that started on the road used to always be a great bet coming back home, too.
And this is why it's a foolish venture to think you can rely on formula's and angles to keep cashing winners. Eventually there will be a stretch where it all stops working and I know a lot of people got buried thinking that Celtics were a lock for game 2, Lakers for game 3, and then even tho they had to go on the road for game 3 a lot of people thought 'both series can't go 3-0'.
I probably would have also lost the last 3 but I somehow ended up with a busy social schedule which I tell you isn't the norm for me. And probably isn't for a lot of gamblers my age. It can get lonely when you get out of your 20s and beyond and gambling is your focus. Be careful of that, lads. You might currently be distracted all the time by gambling, trust me, your girl notices it, and it can end up bad.
Seeing what seems like a surprising string of results actually helped drive home to me that it's way better doing other stuff with people and having real experiences than caring about who covers. I already said I was finished with football after the super bowl, I knew I probably would have to quit basketball too but it is my favorite sport to watch, and I loved playing it as a kid even tho i was awful at it.
But, the legalization and mainstreamization of gambling in the US has actually put me off it. And this is after I moved to Ireland and now UK just so I could gamble legally. The convenience of it was great especially with online gambling. Now I see the endgame, and it's scary especially for young men who haven't gone through 22 years of bets and beats (good and bad, but you only remember the bad ones).
Every sports broadcaster now is including the lines and picks with their coverage. In Europe there are bookie logos on the jerseys of teams. Fanduel and DK are going to be stealing so much joy (not even talking about money) from young men's lives now that it's expanded to the US.
