That’s a good stat, but this series has been strange and it wouldn’t surprise me to see the Thunder record another blowout home win. They fell behind the Nuggets 21-10 in Game 7 and then proceeded to slaughter them. Their home clincher against the crummy T-wolves was also a laugher.

Golden St in 2016 after going 73-9 in the regular season   was the only game 7 loser at home since 1980 .

I thought this was the first time a 4th seed has taken a 1st seed to a 7th game but...

Lakers vs Celtics in 2010 was the last time we had #1 vs #4 in game 7, Celtics almost beat the Fakers until the 4th quarter clutch shooting from Derek Fischer and timely free throws by Kobe to win by 4

Last time a #4 seed beat #1 in game 7 finals, Celtics beat the Lakers in 1969

I believe it was the only team to win by DD in game 6 too just like Pacers. Cavs won by 14 in game 6 and took game 7

After a couple of days to think about it, I've changed my mind. Now it would surprise me to see the Thunder run away with this one. These gutsy, resilient Pacers are better than the banged-up Nuggets and the cold-shooting T-Wolves.

 Good stats...Historically speaking all the game 7s in the Finals are close games..Interesting the 1970 Knicks beat the Lakers by 14 in game 7..

But did any of those home teams win at home in the playoffs by an average 26 points?  The Paycom Center is a very tough place to play for visitors.

At NBA level its as much a game of skill as any except baseball. If the 2 best teams end up going 7 likely they are matched very well. And when its all on the loine that means defensive basketball is often the focus ensuring for a close game.

That may be true but not by much.  The Thunder have only 1 playoff home win under 11 points.  They average 26 points!  They are 9-3 ATS and 10-2 SU at home in playoffs. 

OKC has been a weird team in game 1.  They were up 12 at the half against the Pacers but ended up losing 110-111.  They were up 10 at the half against the Nuggets but lost 119-121.  Even the Minnesota game was a little weird when they were down 4 at the half then smoked them 70-40 in the second half.  The game tonight is not a game 1.

The one game 7 at home this year the Thunder dominated the Nuggets for the final 3 quarters.  I found 2 other games that I believe the Thunder really needed.  Game 4 at the Pacers down 2-1 they have a 31-17 4th to get the win and barely cover.  Game 4 at Denver down 2-1 they have a 29-18 4th to get the win but no cover.  Lets note that those 2 games were on the road.  This team is clutch when they need to be.  And if its close after the 3rd I will be all over OKC minus whatever.

14,18,12,33,8,-4,14,-2,30,10,18,32.  These are the Thunders up or down results at the half in home playoff games.  They were down 4 at the half against Minnesota then went 70-40 in the next half but that was weird game 1.  And they were down 2 at the half in game 5 against the Nuggets.  I actually love an OKC  first half play with the Pacers streak of home teams covering first half.  That looks too good.

Yes they did.  They were also a very good home playoff team that year going 10-4 ATS and 11-3 SU winning by an average 17 points per game.  But they did squander a 3-1 lead which I believe never happens.  And it was Lebron and Kyries first so that maybe had something to do with it.  There is no Lebron or Kyrie on this Pacers team and it's not a game 1, so I don't see them slowing this great home team down when it really counts.

For me, Indiana being on the outside looking in for 11 of 12 qtrs. at Paycom is the factor which trumps all the others. Being miffed at getting steamrolled in Gm. 6 won't hurt the Thunder's chances either.

The Celtics actually beat the Bucks by 15 in game 7 in the 1974 NBA Finals..The Celtics were on the road as well..

Its related to home teams. No doubt if Hall doesn't get hurt they cover but who knows. Horrible way to get fked last game of year. Pure BS

I agree.  No OKC backers should be pounding their chest.  I feel the Pacers might of been the right play but the right play doesn't always win.
