Leaves Couching Job in Milwaukee for RIVAL Chicago Cubs...
Ive been a lifelong Brewers Fan and have mixed emotions with him leaving town. We are ready for a change around here in MIL but really?? CHC?? Did not see that team coming to sweep in for the taking. Very interesting.
Any thoughts on any of this guys? Also, who could you see in for the manager position in MILWAUKEE next?

Had the feeling since early September he was not thrilled to stay another season.
While Milwaukee is a great place for baseball you can blame Brewer management for not getting, other then bargain basement players, the ones needed to get them to the next level. Guess theres no way around small market baseball.

I agree with vetdrm, Brewers did nothing but pick up guys who were good 5 years ago. Can you blame him for leaving to go to a club who will get them to the next level! The cobs farm system has some very good talent and they will fill the holes with players the brewers can't afford!

Well, Counsell was going to move to another team to manage. As a fan of baseball, I don’t want to see Counsell anywhere near a bat. Does anyone remember him batting in his playing days? Worst batting mechanics EVER.

We all have our opinions but huge for the Cubs bad for Milwaukee in my opinion. Counsell won 707 games with less talent and did it year after year with Milwaukee. Cubs will own that division long as he's the manager. Having said this it is the weakest division in the NL by far lol.

I absolutely agree. Although the Pirates seem to also be the laughing stock of the mlb but if they keep hitting the draft with their young talent, they can be the "next Detroit Lions" in baseball in 5 more years or so.
All comment wrote are spot on and I do remember Cousell's batting stance/mechanics!! I remember playing in one of the older videogames and he was scrunched lower to the ground with his arms and gloves higher up like Chuck Knoblauch style! For some reason it gave me a harder time to play with a player that stood at the plate like that. lol
