They've decreased the sizes over the years and, to my knowledge, they have not proportionately lowered the price. I'm sure they haven't lowered the price at all for that matter.
I just bought some and when I opened the package it looked smaller to me. I know they make them smaller now. They are purposely deceiving the public and giving them LESS while maintaining current pricing. The price has in fact went up with inflation, yet you are getting less for your money. I'm sure they're not the only candy manufacturer to do this.
How does a company give you less than they used to, and charge you more for it?
Never was a big candy eater. I won't ever give them another dime. Might boycott others here soon. I need to do further investigation on Milky Way, Snickers, M&M's, and 3 Musketeers.

You may be boycotting all candy soon as there are only a few big name manufactures in the industry that produce the different types of candy , chocolate bars etc.
Is the Big Mac at mcdonalds also smaller or same size?

I think same size. Your hands bigger now so things look smaller.

Are resturants reducing portions/raising prices? The buffets I go to have finally raised their price because they can't lower portion.Do you know the price of soybeans/corn? record highs that you will see in beef, pork, and chicken. Don't deprive yourself over a percieved slight.

I bought a 5.34 oz can of shaving cream yesterday that used to be 10 ozs.
The government should start printing dollars to reflect the shrinking size of products.
What's really cute is what the companies did with dry cat food. It used to be 3.5 pounds and was changed to 3.15 pounds.
Unless u plan on giving the cat away in a month why would you buy 3 pounds when u can get 16 pounds for a little over double the price of the 3 pounder.
I have a 20 pound dog and buy the best deal at 40 pounds.

All portions are getting smaller, and prices are going up.
And our government cooks the books to tell us there is not inflation.
They assume people are stupid, and largely they are correct
If you want to know the true rate of inflation, all you have to do is look at internationally traded commodities and look at the price appreciation for such commodities (oil, gas, beef, grain, gold, silver, etc etc)
We have been living in an environment of 10% inflation for years... but the government CPI will never reflect the truth.

This started about 10 years ago. Just about everything in grocery stores began being packaged in smaller portions. When will it stop? Nobody knows. Perhaps when eggs are sold in packages of 10.

The general public should benefit from this. We're just trying to serve smaller portions at the same price in an effort to curb obesity.
Right
You know as well as I do that it's all about the mighty
I assure you the only motive here is more money.
To suggest that these candy makers are concerned about the public consuming too much candy is absurd. They're absolutely may not be "bad" people, but they simply don't care. Why would they? People are responsible for their diet and they have nobody to blame but themselves if they don't keep it in check.
That said, they ARE bad people to an extent because they are intentionally deceiving the people in their pursuit of money. They are gradually decreasing their portion size hoping the masses will not notice or change their buying habits, and all the while they are not reflecting this change of quantity in their price.
What is the difference between this, and stealing? Is there any?
