Well my single game writeups have been about .500 all year so take that for what its worth....
Last year going into this game Sparty had just battled Ohio state and lost 17-16
Penn state had just rolled Rutgers.
Perception is the most important thing and the public was all over Sparty last year. Close games vs Michigan and Ohio St combined with general lack of respect for what Penn State was doing at the time fueled money on Sparty as a 2-touchdown dog...
People were taking Sparty and the points in a big way.... But Penn State was home at night for that game
Result? Penn state beatdown Sparty badly
Fast foward to this year.... Now Sparty coming off an OT loss at Northwestern and Penn State coming off HUGE collapse vs Ohio St..... Lions now travel to Sparty at night.... People are all over Penn St for big bounce back win especially because Sparty just lost last week as fav....
Perception is the most important thing in gambling. I honestly feel Sparty is the right play here. Despite how good Penn State has looked, last week was their worst nightmare... The chance to prove themselves on primetime in a game they surely had circled on the calendar for weeks.... Now they are on the road for second week vs a team they are supposed to dominate....
Michigan State has the 6th ranked defense in S&P plus (Ohio State was 12th)... They are #4 rushing defense in country in yards per game.... Penn State is #27 rushing defense.... They are fairly even in pass defense....
Last year there was large discrpancy in these numbers going into that game.... but this year, these two teams are closer to each other....
Sparty is always better as an underdog. Popular underdogs NEVER win (Last year)..... But when nobody is picking them tho (this year).... Dantonio delivers.... Sparty still has an outside shot at big10 title so they have everything to play for here....
I saw this line drop midweek and now its back up as people keep pounding penn state expecting that bounce back....
I just think Sparty gets the cover this year. Penn State wins but sweats it out until 4th qtr

Disagree with you on this one. First of all, it is a noon game, not a night game. Secondly, Michigan State has a bad offense and PSU will be hungry to run up the score to impress the committee.

They could run it up to 1,000 and it wouldn't matter; they are out of the playoff hunt. Considering this, it is a pretty big letdown spot for Penn St.

Sparty Rush attack has been doing really well lately. The way JT barret ran against Penn St opened up passing lanes and I expect Sparty to use same strategy... Lewerke runs just as physically as JT with London and Holmes in backfield... I think Sparty slows game down and limits possessions for Penn st

Sparty as a dawg has always been a good bet. BUT its important that they arent a popular dog. They rarely cover as a favorite or popular dawg and i never bet them as such....
But when nobody believes they can do it, thats when Dantonio is at his best

Lewerke killed them last week throwing up that heave ho chet last play. He will throw a few int's or they will fumble in the red zone. The stumbling and bumbling spartans will be crushed tomorrow.

I wouldn't count on Penn State being deflated or unmotivated at all in any sort of letdown game. It's possible they lose on matchups or scheme, etc., but I think they'll be as motivated as ANY game this season to get last week's horrid finish off their minds and shut down any notion that they were a fluke.
EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Penn State's team leaders don't want one loss to morph into a second-half slide. That's why linebacker Jason Cabinda, quarterback Trace McSorley and running back Saquon Barkley decided it was time for a team meeting.
The
Nittany Lions reiterated their season goals on Sunday, one day after
giving away a 15-point, fourth-quarter lead at Ohio State and losing
39-38.
"We just felt like there were some things we had
to get off our chest, making sure the mentality of the team was the
same," Cabinda said. "Be sure that we were (all) still taking the same
approach. Knowing there's a ton of football left and a lot still left to
be accomplished. We're kind of just reiterating those things, really."
