Not a huge College bball player but one thing I don notice is that other that an unranked Uconn the other night, Gtown hasn't really played anyone! Pitt put up the only loss on Duke so far this year in a great game in which they came back from being down by more than 15! Oh and don't let me forget, Pitt is at home, which we all know in college sports and more specifically bball plays a huge roll in the outcome of these games. Liking Pitt with the points at home!!

Pitt also had Cook and Fields when they played Duke, since losing them they've had their 2 losses.

Hey Kap you're right they did play Memphis on the road and got handled. They're on the road again and Pitt even without Cook and Fields should do just fine. Not even sure what his name is but Pitt has a freshman that is putting up 12.5 a night with seven boards and has played very well this year when going up against bigger opponents (...Roy Hibbert 7'2!!). Not saying it won't be a HUGE challenge for this young Pitt team, just think that with the home crowd backing them they pull one out late!!!

Georgetown vs. Pitt +3.5 (3 units to win 2)
- I went ahead and bought 1.5 points making the line what it is. I
really think the Pitt team has shown the nation how tough they are
without Levance Fields and Mike Cook. The youngster DeJuan Blair will
have a tough night with his first real test in Roy Hibbert. Hibbert's
numbers are down a bit from last year, not sure what that's pointing to
for this veteran Hoyas team but he might be on the decline already at
such a young age. Ronald Ramon should be about to guard Jonathan
Wallace and vice-a-versa. Not sure what Georgetown's answer to Sam
Young will be, I don't think they have anyone that can match his
athleticism. Pitt plays amazing at home in the Peterson Center, and
have been since it was built. This will be a typical low scoring,
physical, and defensive Big East matchup.

Hoyas are coming off of a come from behind win against UCONN, in which the Hoyas trailed a great portion of the 2nd half only to
get the win in the last moments of the game. Pitt is the team here that you need to be worried about.......
..........SINCE 2 big injuries have happened, Pitt is NOT the same team that played Duke. BY FAR!! A loss to Dayton that SHOULD'VE BEEN BY single digits and then Villanova coming
TO their home and sneaking away with a close one DOES NOT make it fair well for the Panthers tonight. Without their 2 key players, and a DeJuan Blair who STILL has YET to make himself proven....Jamie Dixon has a #8 seed in the Big East Tourney and a .500% record awaiting him.

I was on here last week to tell you that GTOWN would smoke Depaul on the road, they did.
GTOWN didn't run away from UCONN this weekend, but UCONN is a NCAA Tournament team that I bet will be ranked by seasons end. Forget the rankings right now, they don't mean anything. Villanova has been ranked since the season started and they are not a top 25 team. I think the CINCI loss finally knocked them out. Rankings this time of year can be flawed because preseason expectations are still impacting them, especially if you played a weak nonconference schedule and no one could expose you(case for Villanova). Beating UCONN was a good win. They are still loaded with top flight recruits and they are starting to come into their own.
Pitt isn't the same team that beat Duke, not even close. Pitt hasn't beaten a decent team within the Big East yet. They did lose to Villanova who I don't think will make the NCAA's. I'm a Villanova season ticket holder BTW.
Pitt doesn't have a true pg right now without Fields. Ramon is the only one that can handle the ball and he doesn't even have legit pg skills. Having him at the point also takes away from his offense. He's probably their best outside shooter, although Benjamin has been good from outside.
Blair is Pitt's inside force, but he's only a freshman and he hasn't faced a team that can test him like Georgetown. Duke was Pitt's great win but Duke doesn't have a physical front line.
This is what i BELIEVE will happen.
Georgetown is going to pressure the hell out of Ramon and Pitt and force them into turning over the ball. They are going to be very phsyical with Blair down low and will probably try and get him into major foul trouble early by getting the ball down low to Hibbert.
This is a lousy matchup for Pitt right now.
The only thing that scares me is that GTOWN won on a last second shot Saturday so maybe their focus won't be totally there. Having said that, GTOWN is a very veteran team. It's the first Big Monday of the year, they're going to bring it.
The game might be close for a while, Pitt might even get an early lead, but GTOWN wears them down and wins by 7 or 8.
