I am looking to try to use Kenpom AdjEM (basically a projection of a neutral court game line based on efficiency for those unfamiliar). I am wondering if anybody has tried this strategy and found either good or bad results.
Picks from these tonight are:
Virginia -25.5
Pitt -13.5
Davidson -18
Temple -8
Pacific -7.5
Maryland -19.5
Purdue -20
Xavier -18
Picks based on little research:
BC -17 (Ky Bowman is a beast)
Kentucky/Duke U157 (Bright light with freshman leads to bad shooting???)
FSU/Florida U150.5 (Took this earlier cause it looked right)
All 1 unit. Lets have some fun. Best of luck (coming from Europe which is 6 hours apart so you can only imagine the dedication it takes to watch sports when the EARLIEST game is 1 am).

Ken Pom 4-0
Gut 1-0 So far
(Also added 3 units on UNC Wofford live 132.5 which was EASY). Lets see how the rest turn out

Safe to say the night is concluded as this Duke game is flying over. Ken Pom 5-2-1 Gut 2-1. 7-3-1 overall :)

well ill give a quick example: wisconsin vs xavier Opened at -1.5 Wisconsin, currently at +1 Wisconsin (I use William Hill Lines). There is 76% on Wisconsin side as of vegasinsider We have more money being wagered on Xavier. If you believe in following the money against the trend (RRL) - you would pick Xavier I use Kenpom RRL: early in the season AdjEM is skewed but wisconsin: 18.57 vs 10.49 xavier Use Massey Line otherwise: Xavier -7.5
Thanks...interesting...KPom predicts a two-point win for Wisconsin...Your KPom numbers show value on Xavier, despite.
What's the sample size for you using this approach?

These ratings will just scramble your thoughts and lead you no closer to making solid plays. They lost their effectiveness a long time ago.Best advice is to watch as many games as you can and bet accordingly based off that.
Have you seen enough of Wisky or Xavier to render a pick?

Have you calculated tonight's games, Last night the sagarin system showed a play on Charleston as well, the other was Wisc Milwaukee. Want to see if any of the games tonight line up with kenpom as well. Thanks

Any shot you can provide Sagarin's plays for tonight?

I think that the sagarin ratings are off for some reason, I mean according to sagarin St. Francis today should have been a -4 point favorite. I play sagarin a little different though, I calculate the lines for all small conference games (everyone but the Big 5) and if there is a big discrepancy, I will play the other side of it. Example: Tonight Wright State should be -8 according to Sagarin calculations when factoring in home court, but the line opened at -3 Wright State, so I am going to play Toledo +3 or whatever is the best number I can get.
No big Conferences No double digit spreads Must be 3 point variance in sagarin and opening line
Take it for what it's worth but thought I could match up the plays I have with Kenpom and see if we can narrow some down and see the winning percentages compared to the individual systems.
