I think Halep bounces back strong here. She's a beast. The slow courts favor her, she may be sore from a long match, but not really hurt. And being sore tends to go away once the match starts. I don't think terrible value on Osaka, but my feeling is that Halep wins this fairly comfortably

Slow courts favor Halep, yes. Is this a slow court? no. There goes that theory.
All week long they've been saying the ball has been flying in these hotter temperatures, and even though this is a late afternoon/early evening match, it's still going to be nice and warm. Halep got by Davis because (1) Davis sucks as a rule against better players, and failing on 3 separate match-point chances says nothing different, and (2) Davis plays Halep's game, which is to push the ball because she lacks power. Osaka doesn't lack power. Osaka has the match on her own racket: if she loses, it'll be because she lost it, not because Halep overwhelmed her.
I plan to bet Osaka to win the 1st set, and if she loses it, then bet her to win the 2nd live. IMO she will not get beaten in straights.

After 8 games Halep has 13 UE to Osaka's 16, barely any difference. Halep not playing to any great heights, she's just taken her BP chances where Osaka hasn't.

failing to take all those chances has caused her immaturity to surface, because she's mentally coming undone. Should've won game 4 of the 2nd set easily, instead she gets broken after having 2 GP to win it.

She generated heaps of chances, but failing to capitalize on any has killed her. Had she taken the early ones, we'd be watching a completely different match.
