I agree completely. Amare Stoudemire is not a very good asset to any team. Last night was a perfect example. He plays no defense at all and does not have the same explosive jumping/dunking ability that he once had. The Suns would be in great shape if they could pull of a Amare for Deng and Thomas/Noah deal.

Correct me if I am wrong but Elton Brand has had 8 seasons in which he averaged just around 20ppg and 10 rpg. That is a waste of talent? The guy is in his early 30's of course his numbers are going to decline. Not to mention the multiple knee surgeries that he has endured throughout his career. Bynum has been in the league for 5 years now and has to average more than 15 ppg and has one season in which he has averaged 10 rpg. I'm very confused on your reasoning here. Please do explain. |

Los Angeles Lakers @ Philadelphia 76er's Much like the first game the almighty Lakers will have a tough time getting motivated for this one. This is the 6th game of the Lakers 8-game road trip and above all the Lakers have a matchup with the Boston Celtics on deck. An x-factor for this game is Kobe returning to Philly. I could see him having a great game but he alone will not beat Philly. Let’s take a look at the matchups. The Lakers win and dominate with their frontcourt. Tonight, I believe Philly matches up with them quite well. Elton Brand is definitely on the downside of his career, however he can still play good defense and I see his physical style really affecting Gasol this evening. With Andrew Bynum you never know what you are going to get. This guy has to be the biggest waste of talent in the NBA. Tonight he will face Samuel Dalembert who in my humbled opinion will cancel him out. Bynum does not play well against guys his size that play defense. That description fits Dalembert perfectly. The matchup of Louis Williams/Drue Holliday vs. Derrick Fisher/Shannon Brown will be very interesting to watch. Brown is the PG of the future for the Lakers and his presence tonight could be the difference in the game. At the 3 position we have a matchup between Andre Iguodala and Ron Artest. Artest is another guy who has not played to his potential this season. While Iguodala is the one glimmer of hope for this 76ers team. He is a very versatile player who can do just about anything. The key in this matchup will be to get Artest in foul trouble early and make the Lakers bring in Odom off the bench (this guy is terrible). Then we have the prime-time matchup. Kobe Bryant vs. Allen Iverson. Yes I know Iverson is washed up and Kobe should dominate this matchup. However, the only reason Iverson came back is to show people he can still play with the elite. Tonight is his opportunity to prove that. You can bet that this game has been circled on his calendar for some time. Iverson will put forth his best effort tonight to get the W and get everyone in Philly to love him at least until their next game. Both of these games provide a great opportunity for bad teams to sneak up on the NBA's elite and beat them for this one game. I could be way off by this assumption but I believe both the Cavs and Lakeshow go down tonight. Just my thoughts. Pacers +6 (3U) Pacers ML +230 (1U) 76ers +6.5 (3U) 76ers ML +250 (1U)

Cleveland Cavaliers @ Indiana Pacers Let me start by saying the 2 weeks before the all-star break can be a very dangerous time for backing good teams. The All-Stars have been named and all of the players are starting to feel the wear and tear from the first half of the season and are looking forward to the break. The Cavs travel to Indianapolis tonight in what for them is a very meaningless game. The Pacers have been terrible this year and the Cavs know that. The Pacers on the other hand have read in the paper day-after-day how bad they are and how the team needs to go in a different direction. When you look at the lineups for these two teams the Pacers actually match up pretty well with the almighty Cavs. Earl Watson is a veteran in this league and in my opinion is a better overall player than Daniel "Boobie" Gibson. Watson plays great Defense and should limit the amount of 3-point looks that Gibson gets. Brandon Rush has come on as of late for the Pacers and he will be matched against Anthony Parker. Troy Murphy is a very intriguing player this evening as well. Murphy has been rumored in trade talks with the Cavs pretty much all season long and he will do his best tonight to try and get them to make a trade. He will do a great job of pulling Hickson out of the post which will free up space for the next matchup which is Roy Hibbert and Shaq. Hibbert should dominate Shaq tonight. He can shoot the ball very well and he is a very tough matchup for the diesel. Now the marquee matchup of the game is between The King and Danny Granger. Every time these two teams meet both players typically have great battles. Tonight should be no different. Up to this point in the season Granger has been very mediocre. He has a chance to change all of that tonight by outplaying an unmotivated Lebron James and leading the Pacers to a W.

Would not be surprised to see the Hornets win SU this evening. GL |
