You take the chip shot to go up 8 & make them drive to tie, at best.
What was curious was Minny not going for 2 after the td to take the lead.........wouldve made the chip shot a 100% correct call.

I love Kirk throwing on 3th and 17 from the Vikings own 12. Just run a draw play and punt. Kirk gets stripped and Seattle score next play. Then the next drive runs a bootleg and Kirk gets picked, Seattle scored on the Second Play I believe. Vikings sure picked a winner in Kirk, I'll take Bridgewater over Kirk any day of the week.

I was initially thinking it was a bad play. But, Im a numbers guy and I will do the quick math for you. I know, give or take my percentages may be off, but I don´t think it will make that much of a difference.
Lets say, that play had a 4th down success of 80%. So, 80% of the time you win the game right there. And if you turn it over, let´s say Seattle makes the winning drive 40%. So overall, going for it wins you the game 92% of the time.
On the other hand, lets say that kick is good 95% of the time. If you miss, you go back to situation 50/50 (in which case you are losing 2% of games and winning 3%). If you hit it Seattle needs to go for the winning drive so again somewhere around 40/60... but now you have to hit the 2pt conversion which probably is somewhere around 60%. So, only 24% of the time they would tie the game (and hell you may still have time to kick a FG afterwards, so lets reduce that to 20%). Even if you think that OT would be 50/50 (clearly Seattle has a larger edge), then, Seattle would win 12% of the time if the Vikings had decided to kick.
Apparently, Zimmer not only went with the EV+ play; it was the right one by a LOT.

its a bad call because YOU lost money but technically if they made the first down...they win vs kicking a short FG
come on guys we all know how this goes.....we win some bets and lose some
movve onto the next time dont let it consume you...thats how losing streaks happen
next game next bet
keep that chin up guys!

Anyone who believes they should have went for it on 4th down for is wrong. The result is just proves exactly the reason why Vikings should have kicked FG. If you are up 8, Seattle has to score TD, make a 2pt conversion, and hope to get the football first in overtime. Vikings would still have a shot in overtime to win. With a 5 point lead, all Seattle needs is a TD.
Plus you relied on a backup RB to get the 1st down.
