Spurs (+5.5) at Lakers (-5.5)
The Spurs are a perfect 12-0 at home this year, but have not been able to duplicate that record on the road as they are 5-4 away from San Antonio. Tonight they again play without Duncan, but they will also be without Parker. That leaves Ginobli, and the problem with that is that he is nursing a sore hand. The Lakers will be without Walton and Brown. Brown has missed significant time this year, so the Lakers are used to him not being on the floor. Walton is only posting 7 PPG, so really he should not be missed either. The papers in LA are calling tonight's contest another measuring point for the Lakers season, as noone is really sure how good, or how average, this team really is. I think that with a road trip on the horizon, the Lakers play 5 of their next 6 on the road, and with the Spurs banged up, tonight is probably the best opportunity the Lakers have had in a long time to not only win this game, but also get the cover. Look for Kobe to exact some revenge on Bowen, who in November in San Antonio shut him down.

Washington (+5.5) at Miami (-5.5)
Washington has lost 8 straight and 10 of last 11 at Miami. Wow, let that digest for a minute. Miami, is returning home after a grueling 6 game road trip, which usually automatically means that you should go against them tonight. Why? Well they have been gone fopr awhile and now they get back home and hit the club or take care of "honey-do" list and such. Usually, the first game home after an extended road trip is an automatic lackluster and uninspired effort from the home team. Looking closer at the last 10 between these two, we can see that Miami has won by an average of 6.8 PPG. In those 9 victories however are two double digit wins which I feel skew the numbers slightly. If we knock out the DD wins we find that Miami has won by an average of 4.8 PPG. The way this year has gone, I do not feel comfortable laying 5.5 points with this Heat team, especially in this first game home after their road trip. Washington can run and gun, and when they are on things can get ugly in a hurry. Miami has shown that they can be just as bad as they are good, and I think that after the way they played in Phoenix tonight could be one of those bads. While I do feel that Miami can and should win this game, everything in me is saying take the points and ride the Wiz to a cover. As far as O/U in this one, I only see an OVER if Wade puts up numbers like he has in their last two. If Wade is off, there will be no way this game goes Over. If he is on, it could sail past the Over. That being said, the O/U is a no play for me. I am looking for a solid effort by the Wiz tonight and I am looking for them to keep this one within the number. I will buy the hook as I did in the first game.
