You're 8 for 33 from deep. Your Center is the MVP. He is money from the line.
You have the lead with 5 minutes left. Should you go down low, make them defend a guy no one can stop without fouling, and even if you miss get a good chance at an offensive board, or do the thing that hasn't been working?
Hmmm... Let's have the next 4 of 5 shots be from beyond the arc, and then wonder why we didn't score a single field goal and only one point from 6:13 until the last 30 seconds when we've already blown it.
If you wanted to conjure a strategy of how NOT to close out a game, this would be the perfect.
I'm only saying this as a Sixer fan, I had the Under so not talking through my pocket. I thought it looked fishy how Boston was favorite for this game (yet they were still a dog for the series? Made no sense, bookie saying they should win game 6 meaning they get game 7 at home but they were still a dog to advance?)
In the words of our favorite ocean diver JimmyGape, liquidate everything you have and put in on the Celtics to win Game 7. Moneyline is an absolute lock. This Sixers team hasn't got out of the 2nd round since before Facebook was invented, and they just squandered a closeout home game where Jayson Tatum hardly scored (though he did stick the dagger in at the end)
He isn't gonna be that bad in the next game. I'm taking C's on the spread as well..last year they were down 3-2 to the Bucks, won game 6 on the road and when they came home for game 7 they won by 28 points. And every game they won in this series was double digits even this game that they looked like they were about to lose.
I just can't fathom why they kept shooting 3s in crunch time when none were falling instead of making them try to stop Joel without fouling. Mind boggling.
Oh well, Nuggets-Celtics in the final should be good. I don't think the Sixers would have won in the final anyway and that would be 4 championship final losses in one year (Super Bowl, World Series, and I know no one cares about soccer but the Union lost the MLS final on penalties)
No city should have to go through that. Even one that paid James Harden 34 million a year to hit zero 3s in a closeout playoff game
