I actually thought it was a Scalabrine thread when I first saw it last week because of the eye catching headline style that Scal uses. BWS77 does mention on his first post of the thread I'll be on the Hoosiers with the nice +900 or so moneyline, and also will be taking the points just in case.
BWS77 was right in the ballpark, easily covered the spread and almost slayed the dragon. Not bad.

This pick is not unlike my UMASS/Temple post where I took Umass +13. Did I want to play and post the ML? Of course. I didn't. Why? Because I know what Umass is capable of in a big spot. Did they almost pull it out? Of course. And then in the most insane ways they managed to cough up a guaranteed win. And that was against TEMPLE!
He's trying to do the same thing against OSU!!!! No chance.
NOBODY HERE CARES
Actually they do. I helped out a lot of people with that winning thread, and a lot of people thanked me for that pick and was wise enough not to post a ML loser in that game like this one.
But really, who here other than BWS made this ridiculous ML bet??? I would say no one...because like you said, no one cared about a pick that didn't cash.
Being first and goal down 7, to OSU is still MILES away from any kind of victory where each team gets the ball in OT. Miles...

AGAIN, you're not putting your "hard earned money" on Zander Diamont. It was Sudfeld, at least admit that. He doesn't even F'in start.....................jeebus

Why? He actually stayed in the game with that Diamont run. He was fortunate to have him behind center imo.

Scal - Please see my previous post - YOU HAVE PROVED MY POINT - Rant on my man - Please post last years record
Sure, my record was 8-10 and I've always admitted this.
But I love you trolls.
I win 8 in a row here, going on 9, and the troll says "Post LAST YEAR'S record!"
Then last year, when I was 8-10, I said I was 65% the previous year. Then the trolls responded, "Last year was last year. What have you done for me LATELY!"

Once again, how dense are you? THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO OVERTIME. Indiana would have gone for 2. Win or lose, game was over in regulation. NO coach in America (maybe Mike Riley) would have tried for OT in that spot. Stop talking about things that you have no clue about... Did you even watch the game? I hope you did for as much as you think you know about it.

Go bury your head in the sand kid.
Yeah that's really stupid isn't it scal? Really petty isn't it? Kind of like how you say I'm burning my bankroll with this play, yet you fail to recognize that yesterday I was 8-2 overall posted winning over $1K. This -$100 was a mere blip during my 3rd week of hitting 80% this season.
Now that you've successfully hijacked the thread and spread your cancer into it, I'm looking forward to picking your next play apart. And I'm sure that some of my new friends are looking forward to it also. In the words of Bart Scott..... "CAN'T WAIT!!!!!"

LOL. The hubris, in a losing thread above all things, is AMAZING!
And even if they scored first (something they didn't accomplish) and then went for 2, the odds would never be in their favor.
You act like going for 2 is a done deal, or even a coin flip in favor of Indy, both of which are false.

Wonderful, and as I told you at the outset of this thread, this bet was unwinnable.
For someone allegedly hitting 80% and to be so confident in a terribly poor bet like this is quite remarkable!

Thanks for the take... I watched WMU gash OSU up the middle. Howard is much more talented than the Broncos backs that were running up the Buckeyes gut so I'm worried about him getting his yards.
As for the difference between last years IU and this years, Coleman and Howard are pretty close. Howard ran for 1600 yards last year at UAB and he averaged about 4.2/carry against Miss St and Arkansas in their 2 toughest games. Shane Wynn is missed for sure, he was a game breaker.
I know how much talent OSU has. The problem is right now they aren't playing up to it, and that is why they can be beat
And this is a sport, I KNOW NOTHING about, according to him folks...

You really don't get it do you?? There was going to be no OT in that game. They were 7 yards away from being down 1, SEVEN YARDS. If, they score there, which they didn't, but if, they go for two points guaranteed. Then they are 2 yards away from winning it. TWO YARDS AWAY. The point here is this. This game was a hell of a lot closer than most thought it would be, including you. You just can't admit that. The value was there and it was a good bet in that regard. But again, you're just to dense to see it or too proud to admit it. Either way, you're acting like a child and an epic douche. But by all means, continue making an epic fool of yourself, no one really minds or cares

Why are people (Scalabrine) attacking this guy for a losing thread?
He picked a +20 point dog and gave an amazing write-up about why they could/will win the game?
A 20+ dog???
Not only were they 7 yds away with 4 tries from tying and attempting to win the game...but they did that without their best RB who was hurt in the 1st qtr and without their starting QB who was hurt in the 2nd half...
This was one of the best write-up I have seen on this site, and if not for injuries to their best 2 players, Indiana would have won the game straight up as 20+ dogs

To be honest, if my money was down on this game, I would have rather had it on Indiana. At least if things go their way you get paid off big.
That being said, a person could go broke betting on when OSU will lose. It is going to be very difficult for them to lose a game this season.
The guy said he was taking the points too...
Lets say the moneyline was +900...figure he threw $100 maybe $200 on it for a $900 or $1800 hit....well Im guessing he threw atleast $500 maybe more on the points...that's atleast how most gamblers bet when they like a big dog
He didn't lose money on this game, he just missed out on a very big payday and hit...
That's why I don't get the negative comments on this thread?? Indiana + the points covered 100% of the game and was never in doubt....and the ML was 7yds away from a 2pnt conversion for the win...with their best 2 players missing half the game and more

Here's the bottom line... If I offered you a chance to put your money on a +1000 ml dog and you were guaranteed that they would get 4 tries from within the ten yard line to tie it up or possibly take the lead with a 2pt conversion and virtually no time left afterwards, would you take it?? OF COURSE YOU WOULD. If you wouldn't, you'd be an idiot. Now bigvern is right, blindly betting on OSU to lose would probably cause one to go broke. But that's not what the OP did. He picked his spot and called his shot. And it almost hit. He was 7 yards and a 2pt convo from a big pay day. There's literally no reason anybody should be bashing him for his ml play. Yet some just can't help themselves for whatever reason.

Sudfeld never found his groove, and Redding ran the ball better than Howard was and would have the remainder of the game. Diamont actually brought them closer with his 79 yard TD run and defiant play the last drive. If not for the chance backup roles, this wouldn't have gone down to the wire (not the other way around, as you suggested previously).
Overreaction by everyone on this game in general, in my opinion. The Hoosiers played out of their as$ the entire game and OSU played sloppy on a dreary day in Bloomington.
My previous comment still stands. The Hoosiers won't win more than 2 games the rest of the season, and that may even be a stretch.
The play-by-play guy who called the game (can't remember which it was), kept suggesting they're an 8-9 win team this season. He must've been high.

Next week is upon us.
Feel free to make some Indy threads in the future. I'd like to read em.

You don't need the big payoff Vern. A virtually 100% return on investment is more than enough betting with a completely reasonable three TD's + at home here.
But yes, I know you didn't make the ML bet and were speaking in hypothetical.
