I know I'm prolly going to get a lot of grief for this, but could it have been possible Saban underperformed on purpose Saturday?
@SCDOG
No...That's not Saban's MO...I think Bama is in trouble on Saturday...A lot of you cappers out there are going to bet your coin on Bama showing up as usual and embarrassing Kirby Smart...I think this season is different...At least that's the way it feels to me...The line is only 6.5 due to the delusional Bama backers who hope for the status quote...I think the line should be at least Georgia -9...UGA wins and covers!

@demoman
It's been AT LEAST 14 years since Bama was 6.5 dog. I haven't seen anyone (including Bama fans) say that they will win. You know what that means.

Until Georgia can win the big games...Its Bama...I don't care about the regular season.....The big games are where coaching matters...QB play is ver important..I cannot trust Bennet...Young is a freshman but I trust him over Bennet...

Absolutely agree with the Bennett vs Young handicap. Bennett cannot be trusted as he isn’t asked to make any critical decisions as Georgia blew out every team by 30 points a game. This is a playoff game essentially and Bennet has not been tested at all. Georgia can still win just handing the ball off and playing defense but I don’t think you can cover 6.5 playing that way. Georgia will win a close one because their defense is that special, but they aren’t covering a touchdown with pedestrian qb play. I would wait to see if you can get Bama +7

@davemsh
Georgia doesn't need Bennett to save the day or win the game...They just need for him to not F it up...A backup redshirt sophomore QB for Auburn was up 10 on Bama going into the fourth quarter...But, that's right, Alabama was intentionally sandbagging and not playing their best up until that point because knew they were going to win in overtime against their hated rival...Why not take the first 3 quarters off as they were looking ahead to Atlanta...The delusion on this string is something...Young could not torch a good but not great Auburn secondary...What is going to do against Georgia's? Georgia -6.5

Alabama was held scoreless for three quarters. That has almost never happened in the Saban era. Saban always does just enough to win not concerned with a cover. Until Georgia proves they can win a championship style game vs Bama I would be hesitant to lay 7 vs a head coach as good as nick saban.

@vcdplaya3007
That's BS...Saban was not sandbagging against Auburn, knowing he would squeak out a win...If he could have, he would have defeated Auburn 45 to 0...Saban does not take it easy on any other SEC team, when he has a great team...He only let's up on the patsies (payday) directional schools, and that's when he's up by 40...This is not an elite Alabama team...in my opinion...I guess we will see on Saturday...

@LonghornHoosier
I do agree that this years Alabama team is much weaker than previous championship iterations, but with Nick Saban at the helm you have a shot in every single contest. Alabama deserves to be an underdog. There is also reason for Georgia to potentially not need to go all out as even if they lose this game they are guaranteed a playoff berth regardless. That should factor into your handicap.

Perhaps they know that they will be in...But, they would not get in as SEC Champion if that were to lose this game...Bama has recently owned UGA...Its now their time, their season, and they are are going to go 100% all out to win this game and do so comfortably...And you know they saw with Auburn's F up last week how Bama eeked out the win, so UGA will not let up for 60 minutes...You should factor that into your capping as well...GL on your other picks!

Alabama team total under 23.5 might be the better play here. Alabama has no run game and Georgia has the best defense in college football. Alabama can cover in an ugly game, but in what scenario do they score 24 points.

Georgia is going to give Bama the long overdue beating they've owed them, and the type of beating Bama has been over due for years.. If they don't it's going to be squarely because of kirby smart's in game coaching, period. All they have to do is play predictable field position football and capitalize on Bama's inevitable mistakes from being able to do nothing offensively, like everyone else they've played..

Saban is still adjusting to what this years team is and it's ever evolving now with an even worse lack of depth because of injuries. He's not used to not having the 22 best players on the field this late in the year. Florida was the first crack, then it kept growing. Georgia will look to break them. Seriously, what is the score last week if Auburn had a QB that could complete a pass in the first 60 minutes? 24-0?

Yeah he really took it to Derek Mason's defense
Exactly... and even still, Auburn was Tank Bigsby staying in bounds away from winning that game. This is Kirby's personal crusade, to vanquish the beast that is Alabama. Quite literally saying he wants to take souls and break teams; there will be no mindset of "oh well, we still make the playoff". Several teams have been able to exploit Alabama's OL and now they get to face the best front 7 in the country. Brian Robinson being banged up is huge, there will be very little threat of a running game which means the UGA LBs can either drop or rush as they please. UGA has also basically had 2 glorified scrimmages the last 2 weeks where Bama has played 2 thrillers that came down to the last minute. Give me the more talented and more rested team over "battle hardened".
