Sup fellas, I'm new to the site, and pretty much new to the game. I've been betting the last 3 years, almost strictly limiting myself to NFL games. I've only bet on a handful of College Football games in my entire life, so I'm far from an expert, hardly an opinion worth listening to. I'm starting this thread just to document my progress, and if I happen to become good at making picks maybe I'll be able to help some people with their decisions in the process.
I'd like to wish everybody the best of luck this season.
Feel free to chime in and tell me why you don't like my pick, or why you do like it. If you have any betting strategies, whether it's ways to make picks, or ways to play them, please feel free to let me know. I'm trying to absorb all I can from the online betting community. Again, good luck to everybody.
My 1st ever NCAAF picks on Covers...
9/3/09
Boise St (-3.5) Under Boise/Oregon (64.5)
1 unit play on each bet
And I would like to apologize in advance for my lack of explanation for my picks. I really don't watch much CFB except in January, and wouldn't even know what to write. I'm just making picks based on reading Match-up stats from various gambling websites. On this particular game I'm going with Boise's known stout defense and impressive home record. Beware again I'm a newb, and documenting this for my own enjoyment, and hopefully will win and help others win in the process. Best of luck to you again.

Was doing light research on the game tonight, and got this from badlands post today
TULANE GREEN WAVE +14
tulsa has owned the last 4 meetings in this series but they start
off this year laying 14 on the road with a new quarterback, running
back, and an offensive coordinator gone to auburn. even with their high
flying offense last year tulsa finished the year 0-4 ats on the road
laying chalk. tulane actually was decent to start the year last year,
outgaining alabama 318-172, pretty impressive even bama didnt show up.
east carolina was 12.5 road faves at tulane and needed a late score to
win outright, tulane won the next 2 games but after that injuries
killed them and by the time they were playing tulsa they had lost 20
people to injuries and had given up. tulanes run defense is horrendous
but they did have a pretty decent secondary last year. tulsa 33
tulane 27
Again, credit to badlands here on this forum.
I was already leaning towards Tulane just because I thought it was, shall we say Curious, that the spread was only 14 when Tulsa killed Tulane last year 56-7. The write-up from badlands convinces me that Tulane is the play for tonight. I will also be taking the under (61.5). Now, I have never even heard of these teams, so take from it what you will, but badlands appears to be an expert based on what I saw on his thread so...
9/4/09 Tulane (+14) 1 unit Under Tulane/Tulsa (61.5) 1 unit
Good luck to all.

Looking to improve my record and add to the win total tonight. I have a good feeling about Toledo. Why, you say. No real logical reason.s Based on the 1 game statistics of this season, Toledo has a better offense, they are the home underdog, and the public is smashing on Colorado. That's enough reason for this noob to bet on them.
9/11/09 Toledo +4 (1 unit)
Good luck everybody.
I would also like to pay my respects to the men, women, and children who died on September 11, 2001. You will be remembered.

Things starting off good with UConn being able to hold on. Still on the fence with USC/Ohio State but putting in a 1 unit bet on Bowling Green tonight. I think they can stay within 20 points of Mizzou. Hope everybody is doing well, best of luck to you.
9/12/09 additional bet Bowling Green +20 (1 unit)
(in progress) Michigan +3 (2 units) Hold on for me Wolvies!

Woohooo! I've got 7 wins in a row dating back to the Miami/Florida St. game on September 5th. Acutally it's 8 if you count the Titans game on Thursday. I've also updated my record and units won to reflect the correct amounts. I miscounted earlier. Not doing too bad for a Newbie. Hope everyone is doing as well if not better. If you are down and or lost and want some help, feel free to check out my NFL thread in the NFL forum here on covers. I got some picks that I feel really good about, and hopefully my streak will continue.
Good luck to everyone! Let's get that money!
