Pitt +3
Panthers ML
(Bare in mind, I am risking the most I have ever on any game this year on this one)
Yeah, I said it and I'm not taking it back either. First off, Sam Young is PISSED at the media for reasons I am not discussing. The reason for all of this broke before the Cincinnati game. What did he do in anger? Ripped apart the Bearcats with 18 points and played one of the more physical games this year. That's what happens when you get the lazy card thrown at you...you get........not lazy. He's going to be in a furious, angry, shut your f**kin mouth critics mood tomorrow and who is seriously going to guard him when he is at his prime? WHO? We watched Hasheem alter almost every shot Seton Fall threw up Saturday...Pitt's not Seton Fall, Pitt's not Notre Dame, Pitt's not even Louisville. Pitt is a team THAT WILL MAKE YOU go one-on-one with matchups. THEY WILL MAKE YOU GUARD THEIR BIG MAN OR YOU WILL PAY...if you haven't learned that by now, basketball isn't the sport for you. Blair and Thabeet will be going at it like it's the battle of Troy for all mankind. Biggs, who is back to 100%--finally--will be throwing his dukes at Jeffrey. Now obviously Jeffrey is the better of the two, but no so much from the perimeter, where Biggs can splash plenty in your face. That *will* be a factor tomorrow. With Dyson missing, Sam is going to have a wonderful time posterizing a critical Robinson/Austrie defense tomorrow. And if Thabeet really wants to shave off of his man to help out on Sam--which he will--then Sam will have plenty of wide open targets to find on the other side of the floor starting with Blair and working up to Jermaine and Bradley. Pitt is also the deeper of the two teams without Dyson now. Gilbert had a breakout performance Saturday and has enough confidence to last till the end of the regular season.
And what will be the biggest factor tomorrow?
The best, yep, the best point guard in the conference Levance Fields and his nation leading 3.98 assist/turnover ratio. 13 assists and no turnovers against Cincinnati Saturday...is that possible!? And do you think that happens just once? This guy is averaging nine assists right now...he's working the ball like a hooker works you for every dollar in your pathetic wallets. And as it is said in every conference all the time by every player: "HE IS MAKING US THAT MUCH BETTER." They aren't lying...Levance is finding a wide- open man almost every possession right now...you can't make that s**t up. With Jermaine Dixon playing the best defense of his life, holding Vaughn to 3 of 7 from the floor Saturday--Vaughn averages near 20 PPG--and Wanamaker coming off the bench giving FANTASTIC minutes, and Levance doing that thing we just talked about, and this team playing THAT MUCH BETTER without Blair in the lineup...holy s**t...I don't even think Oklahoma could f**k with this team right now. AJ Price never had a matchup thrown in his face like this before. He'll be pressured, he'll be flustered, he'll be a turnover machine. You can't grab half court trap turnovers out of the air and dunk them, can you Hasheem?
Sorry, but Pitt wins this and with a plentiful margin. If it happens differently I will be the first person to
myself but no, no way...not tomorrow will it be different.
Pitt 75, Connecticut 63
