No. 1 Gonzaga stays unbeaten, flattens Pacific

Drew Timme recorded 22 points and seven rebounds to help top-ranked Gonzaga roll to an easy 95-49 victory over visiting Pacific in West Coast Conference play on Saturday night at Spokane, Wash.

Corey Kispert added 16 points and seven rebounds as the Bulldogs (15-0, 6-0 WCC) registered their 47th consecutive home victory.

Gonzaga has won this season's eight contests at "The Kennel" by an average of 30.1 points. Saturday's win is the fourth by at least 30 points.

Joel Ayayi added 12 points, Dominick Harris scored 11 and Jalen Suggs contributed nine points, 11 rebounds and eight assists. Suggs exited with 5:37 remaining after flirting with the second triple-double in school history. Ayayi recorded the first on Jan. 9 versus Portland.

Daniss Jenkins scored 17 points for Pacific (5-3, 2-2), which lost its 16th straight game against the Zags. The Tigers are 1-18 all-time against Gonzaga.

Pacific committed 13 turnovers and had just three assists while losing its second consecutive contest. The Tigers shot just 27.9 percent from the field and were 2 of 16 from behind the arc.

The Bulldogs shot 49.2 percent from the field, including 12 of 26 from 3-point range. Timme made 8 of 11 field-goal attempts.

Gonzaga had a 50-37 rebounding advantage and a 20-11 edge in fast-break points.

The Bulldogs missed five of their first six shots before erupting on a 24-3 burst to open up a 21-point lead. Andrew Nembhard capped the run with a 3-pointer to make it 26-5 with 12:15 left in the half.

Kispert buried a 3-pointer to make it 34-8 just past the midway point of the half. A layup by Suggs with 43 seconds left pushed the lead above 30 as Gonzaga held a 52-21 halftime advantage.

Kispert connected on another 3-pointer as the lead crept past 40 for the first time at 67-25 with 15:01 remaining. The lead reached 50 when Harris drained a 3-pointer to make it 95-45 with 1:30 to play.
