RAMS -8' vs. 49ers - We already know who's out for San Francisco, the biggest names being QB Brock Purdy and DE Nick Bosa. However, it's worth noting that Mac Jones has put up better numbers than Purdy has thus far, so I'm not seeing a drop-off there. But Bosa is the Niners' best player on defense and will be sorely missed on a unit that's giving up just 280.5 yards a game. They'll have to step up big time vs. a Rams team that would be undefeated right now, except for two blocked field goals at Philadelphia. Still, in the last 13 meetings between these two, the underdog is 11-1-1 ATS with nine outright wins!

A look at tonight's game

Vikings -3' vs. Browns - Rookie QB Dillon Gabriel gets his first start for the Browns across the pond. Hard to say how he'll do, but it wouldn't take much to eclipse what Joe Flacco has done. Carson Wentz gets another start behind center for Minnesota, but his offensive line is down three starters and a key backup, and has allowed 18 sacks thus far. Going up against the NFL's best defense will be a tall task.
Texans -1' at RAVENS - Hard to say if Baltimore has any fight left but their backs are against the wall. Their defense is riddled with injuries and can't stop a nose bleed, and now QB Lamar Jackson is out with a bad hammy. Texans' revamped offensive line is still a work in progress though, and their only win is against the hapless Titans.
Dolphins -1' at PANTHERS - Miami was outgained by 104 yards in a 27-21 win over the Jets on Monday night, while Carolina actually had 19 more yards than the Patriots in a deceiving, 42-13 blowout loss. Panthers have covered six straight games as a home dog. Both teams have some key injuries.
COLTS -7 vs. Raiders - Raiders' offensive line had its' best game of the season last week, but they lost LT Kolton Miller, their best lineman, for a few weeks. QB Geno Smith has thrown seven picks so far. That's not gonna cut it against a Colts team that could easily be unbeaten. QB Daniel Jones has been solid for Indy.
SAINTS -1' vs. Giants - Rookie QB Jaxson Dart gets his first road start against the winless Saints. QB Spencer Rattler is has shown improvement under HC Kellen Moore, but is still looking for his first win as a starter for New Orleans after ten tries.
Cowboys -1' at JETS - Dallas is allowing an NFL worst 420.5 total yards and 309.3 passing yards a game. They made Russell Wilson and Caleb Williams each look like the second coming of Joe Montana. Now it's Justin Fields' turn. He's actually played pretty well despite the Jets' winless start. The Flyboys have seven turnovers and no takeaways, which ain't gonna win you many football games. They're due for some good fortune, and after playing well in a 40-40 tie vs. the Packers, QB Dak Prescott is due for a clunker. I think the wrong team is favored here.
EAGLES -4' vs. Broncos - Denver is off a Monday night rout of the Bengals, but they've lost six straight as a road dog (1-5 ATS). The Eagles are 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS, but they're 0-4 ITS. Special teams have come up big and they're +4 in net turnovers. They're winning, but the way they're winning isn't sustainable over the long haul.

CARDINALS -7' vs. Titans - Winless Titans have been outgained by 158 yards a game, and have lost each contest by an average score of 30-13. Cards' top two RBs are injured, with James Conner out for the year. Even with that, plus QB Kyler Murray's struggles, Arizona looks like a good eliminator pick here, if you haven't already used them.
SEAHAWKS -3' vs. Buccaneers - Over the last two years the Bucs are 6-1 ATS after a loss, but are missing WR Mike Evans and RB Bucky Irving for this game. Seattle has a three day rest advantage having played last Thursday.
Lions -10' at BENGALS - Detroit has outscored their last three opponents 124 to 61, and it looks like more of the same here as Cincy has lost their last two, sans Joe Burrows, by a combined score of 76-13. I'd like to take the Bengals here but I can't pull the trigger. The Lions are my eliminator pick this week. If they roll in this game it'll set up a nice fade next week at KC.
CHARGERS -2' vs. Redskins - 'Skins QB Jayden Daniels returns to the lineup but is missing his top two WRs. Bolts lost LT Joe Alt in last week's loss to the Giants, and had big problems in pass protection. They'd already lost Rashawn Slater, their previous LT, for the season. Tough call here.
BILLS -8 vs. Patriots - Patriots have alternated losses and wins. They clobbered Carolina last week, 42-13, despite being outgained by 19 yards. Buffalo almost acts like they're bored, having sleptwalked their way to a pair of unimpressive wins over the Dolphins and Saints. If they play their "A" game they should win comfortably, but the Pats aren't a team to take lightly.

I'll always have something up on Thursday once the injury report is finalized for that game, and the rest of the games Friday evening or Saturday while I'm watching the college action. If you read between the lines you'll see I'm on the Jets today, but that's the only game besides the Thursday night game on my card this week. Tough slate.
