In General. Roughing the Kicker needs to be changed

I even bet on the skins so I'm not being a salty bettor, but these calls are not good for the game. Making contact with the kicker as a result of making a strong attempt to block should not be a penalty. This should just be part of the play unless there's an obviously unnecessary contact with the kicker. This call has just changed so many games and penalizes effort. Just my two cents, would be happy to hear a counter if anyone disagrees,

As long as you hit the planted foot, it's gonna happen every time.

i disagree.  if you dont protect him, he will get bum rushed every time and get injured.  he's in a very vulnerable position.

but also why there are two types.  the incidental five yard and the fifteen yard full on tackle into the kicker's plant leg (where he's the most vulnerable).

If you don’t have these rules to protect the kicker , everyone goes full speed when they punt…..how many kicker’s leg will be broken ? It’s the special team choice to play discipline or not.

I feel the same way about the quarterback sliding down to safety then the refs call a penalty after the quarterback goes into his slide and is hit as he drops to the safe position by a defender because he is protected which if he decides to run out of the pocket and past the line of scrimmage he should be treated as a running back and should be live game as such.

We can bitch about it all we want but we're not changing a thing and neither is the league.
