someone help!!!!!!! who would you pick in this match-up. forget about the records and rankings of these teams. who do you think will win.
If you just need a side, then VAN is your play if you are picking for the Covers Contest or something similar.
If you are looking to wager, then I suggest VAN in Regulation. You don't want to be dropping -135 on a ML play. That is just not wise odds management. The Reg play will minimize your risk in case EDM pulls their head out of their backside tonight.
Bottom line for me is EDM cannot beat teams in their own Conference which I feel is the stronger of the two Conferences. They are 0-5-1 in the West to VAN's 4-2. EDM has only beaten East teams so far, and they catch a lot of those teams who do the CGY-EDM-VAN loop in a short period of time. So the schedule favours those three West teams when East teams come knocking.
They lost twice to VAN already, but also dropped two more exhibition games to VAN just before the season started when teams were getting closer to locking in their lineups. So that is 4 times VAN has beaten EDM in the last month. Some people would say EDM is due. I say EDM cannot matchup lines against VAN's talent.
There is the Miller thing which has been mentioned above. Miller is on his game right now. Scrivens, while playing decent lately, has never showed he can keep at that level for extended periods of time.
Another thing I see is the Ginger Twins have 9 points between them in the two games they have played against EDM so far this season. That re-enforces my premise that EDM has problems matching up against VAN.
I felt the only way to play this one, from a betting perspective, was to get on VAN in Regulation. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong as I don't see this game being close enough to get to extra time. If I make a mistake and the bet goes down, I want that to happen at plus juice. -135 ML losses eat your bankroll eventually.
