This is very true, after last night do we have slight edge with the defense?

You are living in the present my friend. It's easy to discount stuff that happened in the past because it was a decade ago, and because New Orleans big win is fresh off your mind.
The 99' Rams were the highest scoring team in history, and I think New Orleans doesn't even realistically have a chance of catching them.
Yes, New Orleans does have a nice offense, but the 99' rams had 4 position player Hall of Famers.
Kurt Warner at QB, Marshall Faulk at RB (Dual Threat), and Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce Opposite at WR.
Props to the Saints though on a great season. But I do believe that it was slightly expected. Remember the division curse? First to worst, and Worst to First. It was New Orleans turn to win that division, and Carolinas turn to hit the bottom. Lucky for Carolina, Tampa Bay has been having an awful season.

New Orleans certainly has the oustanding offensive program, and the late adding of Mike McKenzie is a very pleseant plus to the defense. You guys can be very proud of having an outstanding football club. See ya in playoffs.

Correct me if i am wrong but didn't the 07 pats surpass that record, and the commentators said that we are on pace to beat the pats numbers, I think it was 580 points in a season. Remember we average 36.9 per game do the numbers.

hey douchebag, u better look at the ur saints schedule. Compare that to pats 07 schedule : pats play chargers, colts, cow, pitt, giants, eagles, balt, all are playoff good D team. Now look at ur saints schedule: tampa, eagles (without mcnab), panthers, who else? all are sub 500 team. So of course saints surpass pats scoring record! u play weak teams clownhead

wake up. don't be a douchebag yourself. the reality is Saints pounded Patriots last night, 38-17.

Kurt warner 1st year in NFL vs Drew Brees with multiple years experience.....yet Warner is still a better qb imo...
Gimme Faulk all day everyday vs Bush and crew
Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt in 1999 were probably the best wr tandem in history....
I think the Rams would drop the Saints 41-24

If the Saints defense played the Rams just like they played the Pats you still don't give them a chance. I don't think I can name 3 defensive players from that 99 team.

First, I'm a Rams fan (sad, I know). But the Rams offense was much better. A lot of the Saints are good because of the system. Guys like Faulk, Holt, Bruce were already very good players or even great. Then throw in Az Hakim, and you have a better offense than the Saints.
Az was the weapon that most people forget about. He had around 700 yards receiving and 8 tds as the 4th weapon. Then throw in Holts 800 yards, along with Bruce's 1200 yards, and you had the best receiving group in the league. And thats not it. You had Faulk add his 80+ catches with 1000+ yards!! And dont forget Ricky Proehl. He didnt have big stats, but he made big plays when they needed it (caught the game winner against TB 11-6). All this being the first year they all played with each other. Thank you lord for sending Rodney Harrison into Trent Green's knee, therefore giving them Mr. Kurt Warner.
Same with the defense. I believe they were ranked #3 of #4 overall. They were just pure speed.
Saints were good, but not on the Rams level. They really should have won 2 out of 3 Super Bowls, but some kid named Tom Brady had something to say.
Take it easy with your Saints. LONG way to go. But they look great.

The 2009 Pats would have been smoked by the 1999, 2000, and 2001 Rams. They would not have punt.
The defense had guys like London Fletcher, Kevin Carter, Grant Winstrom, Todd Lyght, Dre Bly, Archuleta, Mike Jones (SB td saver), and D.Marco Farr. No superstars, but they played great together.
Oh the memories.

You guys were just fukn incredible back then, I might be jumping the gun here, but I don't think any defense out there can stop my offense.

Stop it. There have been some great defense that would have no problem with the Saints. There were great defense that stopped the Rams (TB and NE did their jobs). TB held them to 11 points in the NFC championship that year. 11!! That was a bad ass defense. You dont think a D with Brooks, Lynch, Sapp, Barber, Nickerson could stop them? One thing about this type of offense. When they are off, they are way off.
NO's offense hasnt been great every single game. Against the Jets and Buffalo on back to back weeks? Nothing spectacular.
You're awfully excited in week 11.
