Playing 2 Units on Brendan EVANS to win First Set over roko Karanusic. Both player are more challenger material but the American has been in pretty good form lately and his opponents have struggled make inroads in his serve. He serves a pretty high % of his serves in, and wins most of the pts on his first. Again, I believe that karanusic is favoured here solely because he's more of a "household"name whereas nobody has heard of EVANS. I would have had the American slightly favoured here, so I'm shocked that he's quite the underdog today! Hopefully, most of you can get the first set win betting option. If you can't, then I Guess just take him to win head to head. Good luck everyone

Aussie; and people here: I want to ask your opinion about this: (I know is not a baseball forum but I think you are gonna be around here):
Seattle Mariners have lost 12 games in a row, against the best team in baseball Angels!, Seattle was losing some minutes ago 6-2. The 71% of the wagers were on Anaheim, so a few minutes ago the angels commited 3 errors so impossible to believe that they were for real, they were so easy. And finally Mariners scored 7 runs in two innings to win, so Las Vegas also hit the 71% !!! Are many games like this fixed??? Yesterday a same situation happened when Cincinnati reds were losing and beat the marlins in a similar way, they were losing, the other team committed errors and the bets were on marlins. Opinions welcome

Just got back really ...School holidays here ....Enough said
AAChen, call me too naive, too short sighted, too trusting, too dumb and ignorant or whatever label you'd like to stick at me, BUT I honestly struggle with the whole match fixing phenomenon! Sure I know ALL ABOUT Donaghy and Davydenko (allegedly) and some Italian league soccer games, but such incedents are very isolated cases and far n few in b/ween! Sore losers can't accept that they lost their bet and keep talking about match fixing! I am HIGHLY amused after every single NBA game last year, in the NBA forum some idiot what start a thread calling it 'the moose of the year' or 'i hate nba cause it's all fixed' or 'david stern was in charge of the game' etc...
Like I said, I'm fully aware that there's been match fixing in MLB and NBA, Cricket or any other sport for that matter, but these are very very isolated incidents, imho!
It's gambling, remember !!!! What if we were on the right side of that "moose" or "fix" we would say, smthn like 'Wasn't that the best capping game I made?' or be more realistic and say 'we were lucky there..' But when our bet lost we jump straight away on the whole FIX issue! (by the way, don't get me wrong as I'm not talking about U here AT ALL!) I think your Q is very valid, as it swirls on everyone's mind, but I am very sceptical to match fixing.
I will never forget a Chauncy Billups downtown 3 ptr sending the game into OT and costing my Under thousands of dollars. I swear I collapsed on the floor at home, in tears! But never did I label it a moose or a fix or anything. It was a freakin lucky shot, by an amazing player. The game went over in OT!.... And there has been several incidents like that. It's a gamble! Who would have thought MNF would be well and truly over by H/T last Monday?!
But again, I don't rule out that there are a few cases where matches have been fixed!
Also lastly, remember there's very very little b/w the "crap" team and the "great" team. Or the "crap" number 360 ranked Tennis player and the number 6 ranked player in the world. On a hot day, the "crap" team/player, can nail the "amazing" team/player! These are professionals we're talking about! :-)
Now let's get this baby and hoepfully the moose or the fix goes our way

Nice write up on your thoughts of Match Fixing. Got a quick one for you while we wait out this rain delay. Aussie, do you believe players pay any attention to the odds for games they compete in? Eg. in NBA Total Over/Under set at 185.5 and score is 100-85 with 15 seconds in the match. Players usually bounce out the remaining time instead of trying for that last basket to help the poor buggers on the Over.

My comment is not exactly saying that David Stern sometimes steals games, or if a high ranked tennis player loses against a low ranked is a trap or excusing myself for picking the team that lost my bet. Is quite beyond that, for example: I invite you to look at the 4 teams that have the most bets in a college football week and automatically you have to dare them, and you will finally see that 2 of them placed against will be winners!. So Las Vegas can survive and make a lot of profit. for example one friend of mine and me, since we saw that Dallas and Yankees won the last Sunday, that means Las vegas lost a lot of money and they want to recover it as fast as possible so we are taking extreme caution in these days and already a lot of surprises happened!! Philies lost, boston lost yesterday, anaheim, marlins, mets, etc.. I don´t know exactly how it works, but what I do think is that public games, the most betted teams, games on weekends and teams like yankees or anything that has a lot of money ON, for X reason is more likely to lose and that are the most dangerous things to bet. And we have to accept that IT HAPPENS BECAUSE OF SOMETHING.
Any way we can discuss it in other time that would be more appropiatte. I just wanted to know what were your thoughts....

Here's a bit of some crazy "trivia" for everyone: EVANS is paying $4.35 with betfair!!!! Most other books still have him as a slight dog somewhere $2.05 - $2.20! But I'm blown away that Betfair as him out well over $4 -WOW!!!!!
Either, the public is gonna get screwed, or really a fix is lurking around that match!!!!
In fact as I type the books have suspended betting on that match!!!
Bizarre.....
Let's see what happens here now boys. I don't like it to be honest

My theory is that it's the obscure/unknown guys who spend an arm and a leg in air-fairs, hotel accomodation, travels, coaching and everything else under the sun, who would be tempted to throw the match for a decent amount!
Guys like Nalbandian, Davydenko, Rafa and that upper echalon don't care for anyone'$$$ offer. They're way above that. They've got what they want and they play above reproach. But it's the struggling battlers who'd be tempted ...and why not!?
Anyhow, perhaps I'm making too too much of this. Hopefully it's nothing. However, that kind of a move it's outrageous in my humble understanding!
I guess we'll find out soon-ish.
ps. jive you love your nbl mate! That's great. We should make some good this season. I love NBL betting ....

this is the graph I looked at before That's what raised some small alarm bells for me. And that's when the betting got suspended there. Also, very sus was the fact that most books closed the betting whether delayed due to rain or not. Betfair kept it open however ....
