1) liverpool swansea - over 3 (1 unit) 2) liverpool fulham- fulham +1.5 (didn't play this one though as i don't fade my own team) 3) liverpool arsenal - liverpool ml +130 1 unit
overall 2-0 with plays but hope this streak continues! BOL everyone and hope you enjoy watchin them this season as much as i have lol

liverpool's only home defeat this season was to southampton. in that game liverpool dominated possession and chances but was denied a penalty and was caught napping at a set piece(what's new? lol). suarez was serving the last game of his suspension in that game, and thankfully he will be very available for this one. having also lost 3-1 here last season, hard to imagine the reds would fancy losing 3 in a row to the same team.
in my opinion sturridge is the best striker who's played for liverpool since fowler. it doesn't take him many shots to score a whole bunch of goals and he can stick the smallest of half chances in the bag at anytime. this is what separates a great striker from a good one imo.
southampton had a fairly successful gameplan last time in terms of defend and counter but it's rare this type of strategy works two games in a row. rickie lambert on southampton, though he's only scored 8 league goals this season, is still a very dangerous poacher and one chance might be all he needs. i do think agger and skrtel will have a better outing this time around as they slowly adjust to playing together again.
st mary's is never an easy place to play, though southampton have only won one of the last seven games here in the league. regardless, look for liverpool to dominate possession and chances again but this time with suarez back, it might be one weapon too many for the saints back line to shut down. see a 3-1 or 3-2 scoreline depending on how the defense holds up.

good plays, think teams have slowly adjusted to Pochettino after their crazy start
too bad about their post xmas schedule or they might be top of the table, but thats the BPL for you, more about money and marketing than actual quality of play

Well .. If you bet Liverpool you should consider Mignolet ability to screw things up
lol. reina's was way worse ! was one of the best keepers in his prime but even then he would have some absolute howlers (at the worst times always too)

thanks!
even then, liverpool dominated play both games but that mignolet gaffe took the wind out of their sails against city and chelsea simply had more experience with winning big games. i wasn't terribly disappointed though(a welcome contrast from the last 4 seasons) as the results will come with more exposure to success. hopefully as soon as the return games! performances have been very satisfying though as for the first time in forever this team plays to win every game instead of not to lose. the table speaks for itself
1-0-1 push today(thanks stevie in stoppage time as always! lol) overall record is 3-0-1 now.
may also take this time to mention i have a futures bet on them to win the title at 14-1 odds(got it at start of the season). nowadays it's 5-1 but it still may be worth looking into. as liverpool plays both city and chelsea later in the season you can feel free to hedge accordingly.

liverpool fc vs that other team - sunday 7am eastern
rivalry game! liverpool haven't won at old trafford since 2009, but the opponent's got a new manager since as you may have heard. their current form really speaks more to the excellence(as much as i hate to admit it) of the recently retired manager rather than anything else. imo due to their owners' financial issues they really haven't had that much talent relative to all the other big clubs in europe since ronaldo left, just the framework and organization put in place allowed the team to keep thriving. but all that's in the past now
the 1st game this yr was decided by a sturridge goal in the 3rd minute, and afterwards more or less settled into a nervy possession battle with only a few chances created by both sides. suarez was suspended for the 1st game. but now he's not! it should make a huge difference as he's not only clinical around the goal but also lifts the game of everyone else in the front third. the cumulative effect can't really be understated here.
liverpool get lucas and sakho back for this game, though don't see them starting. henderson/stevie/coutinho should still romp the midfield which will in turn lead to plenty of goal scoring opportunities created at the other end. stevie lives for games like this and don't be surprised to see him have another vintage moment. up front sturridge and suarez will bring it, suarez especially. not much more needs to be said. he can smell that this is the best chance in a long time to avenge all the misery inflicted upon him by this team.
on the other side van persie, though currently out of form, is always devastating up front and liverpool would do well to keep him off the ball. rooney rarely plays well in this game for whatever reason, and with moyes probably putting him in some weird false nine role () don't really see that changing.
moyes has some interesting tactics which remind me of hodgson when he was coaching liverpool. coincidentally both managers are really popular with the fans kagawa looked fantastic against west brom and him and chicharito can cause the shaky liverpool back line a lot of problems, but if moyes wants to keep them on the bench that's his prerogative. he also said liverpool are the favorites for this game before the game even started. lol
the form of the two teams suggests a high scoring game, though these games tend to be cagey more often than not. prob skipping the total for this game.
BUT, here's why i think liverpool will win:
like the song goes, rodgers IS the golden sky at the end of the storm. before he got hired, the games had been borderline unwatchable for the last 4 years and i was not surprised at all to see the team lose to northampton or blackpool or watnot, and get sucked into that relegation battle. finally a manager who understands that to win, you have to score goals, and to score goals you have to create shots! what a revelation.
MOST importantly, he's lifted the bad hoodoo/juju/malaise surrounding the club since the last premier league title. the players believe anything is possible and they will go to the ends of the earth for the manager. the team plays to WIN, not not to lose. something i haven't seen in 15 years of being a fan till now. the results so far speak for themselves.
can't win at stoke? 5-1 this year! can't beat arsenal at home? 5-1 again!
lost 4-0 at tottenham a year ago? win 5-0 this year!
sure the defense leaks goals but you don't win league titles by going for a 1-0 win every game, not unless you're a defensive whiz like mourinho. it will end up 0-0 or 0-1 a lot more than you want it to and points dropped here and there will add up at the end of the year.
it took a while for the mentality to kick in, but it's never been more evident this season. arsenal game was obvious, but the fulham and swansea games said a lot more imo. down 2-1 with 30 min left at fulham, the last couple of liverpool teams woulda hit the post a couple of times, sulk, and let it linger into a losing streak. not this time! you can also see it in henderson's game winner against swansea. he would have been too hesitant to even attempt the shot a couple of seasons ago, but this time he chased down his own miss and beat the goalie to his own rebound. the team's fighting spirit is dare i say it, reminiscent of that recently retired manager. but i digress.
anyway, the only team i see winning is liverpool, though just 1 unit as after all it is still a derby and funny things can happen. but hope they don't! might be the last time for a while i get ml odds this good at old trafford lol

Im Uruguayan so I watch every game and support Liverpool because of Luis Suarez. I agree with everything you have said this isn't the same Liverpool team of the past years. Sturridge and Suarez will cause headaches for that aging back line of Manchester United and their midfield will dominate this game. Henderson is a work horse he has really come into his own this year. Only thing that has me worried is that Liverpool back line they can be real shaky at times. Liverpools defence is their offense so let's hope Suarez and Sturridge have big games. LIVERPOOL ML BIG!

I put in a future for them to win the World Cup it pays 34 to 1. I know it's a long shot but last time the World Cup was in Brazil Uruguay won and we can't forget that they went to the Semi Finals in the last World Cup. We are a small country that doesn't get much recognition like Brazil and Argentina but we do have some quality players like Cavani and Suarez that can take us to the promise land. I figured if they make it out of their group I can start hedging lol. Nice hit on Liverpool boys!

not a bad idea i might look into it myself thx 4 the heads up! if uruguay advances they have a manageable 2nd round game with columbia/ivory coast/greece/japan and after that anything can happen in a 1 game format. suarez will be the best player on the pitch most games and i like uruguay's team spirit and never give up attitude. as a neutral ill be rooting for them as well. BOL !

on paper this seems like an easy win for liverpool. this is a letdown spot though after the united game traveling to face a desperate cardiff team. unlike previous years i only see liverpool winning in this spot but don't see any value in the -1.5 -131 nor the -260 money line lol. can see the total being anything from 1-0 to 3-0 to 3-2 so no play for me this game. BOL with your plays this weekend. see you next week and go reds!

no play. not that much value in -2.5 +116 as i can see liverpool winning by 2 goals. -564 ml could work as part of a parlay. team total is inflated at o3.5 because of the last liverpool game so personally passing on that as well. BOL with whatever you do decide to play

Thanks for the info and thoughts on the Liverpool team you know well. It helps when capping. I admire your passion for this team and part of that is calling it like you see it, calling like you think it will be, and calling it the little facts that you tend to care more about than the casual capper.....all of which leads to a solid record when capping.
This Liverpool / Sunderland match is interesting as I agree with you using Liverpool as bait "parlay" material......funny tho....I can see them scoring 2 for sure than I ask myself why not 3 or 4.....but thats a big number especially if Sunderland doesn't do much. I agree no play.....but mainly wanted to say thanks.

Huge Liverpool supporter, I have been since Michael Owens first year with the squad. I love watching this team play this year, so many postives right now. Winning against great teams, dominating at home, no problem running scores up and playing attacking style futbol with any team. Sturridge healthy, really put the final notch on the belt for this team. Add that to all the young talent that has improved this year and only going to get better with speedy gonzalez Sterling and Coutinho (who is looking more confident), mixed with the veteran Gerrard who has over ten goals this year (many penalties), Henderson who is coming of age the last few weeks....nice to see Hendo and Coutinho finally finishing off plays, they struggled finishing last year and beg of this year...This team just has that glow to them right now, very free flowing. Suarez, the funnest player to watch in futbol in my opinion, his quick little touches, impeccable in moving with and without the ball, underrated passer who puts perfect speed on the ball when he does, beats offsides traps so well and can finish in so many different ways...big thing was last year he didn't have confidence to pass the ball in the attacking third because nobody was finishing. Having Sturridge who can finish, has given Suarez more trust in his teammates. When they both are healthy, they make each other better on the pitch. Add this to again a young defense with the bash brothers Agger and Skrtel. Glen Johnson and Flanagan on the outsides. Allan and Victor Moses off the bench. So fun to watch this year and can't wait to see them destroy Hottspur tomorrow. Lets go 'Pool Best part about this team is this young talent is only going to get better, just think of how much better the young middies Sterling, Coutinho and especially Hendo lately have been playing since last year and Skrtel and Agger are just going to get more comfortable. Of course, players switch teams more frequently these days, but the future is bright for Liverpool!

sorry im in miami 4 vacation lol. good work palace and arsenal! evidence of the danger of always playing for a 1-0 scoreline on the road. liverpool hasn't had that problem this season. lol
liverpool tottenham - sunday
i've always hated watching this fixture over the last 4 or so seasons, not only because of liverpool's horrendous record, but also because liverpool would always create something like 20 chances to spurs' 4 but would also hit the woodwork 4 times and end up losing 2-1 on a 85th minute goal.
things haven't changed much for spurs this season as they don't even have a positive goal difference but somehow are still within 8 points of the last cl spot. go figure. liverpool thankfully got over the mental barrier against spurs last season with the comeback 3-2 win and it carried over to the 1st result this season. -222 is a solid ml bet to throw into a parlay. still getting used to taking these fav ml but as a general rule liverpool games are as good as dortmund/bayern/real/barca etc games from now on from a ml perspective, maybe even with better value.
-1.5 +120 is the square pick, but its plus money for a reason. spurs' surprisingly have a better record on the road than at home with 9w 4l 2d so couple that with the revenge factor for the earlier humiliation this season and they will not lay down for this fixture. in general spurs have also been a really "jammy" team this season, as you can see just from the last game coming from 2-0 down to win 3-2. i can see liverpool leading 3-0 whole game and givin up 2 goals in the last 10 minutes to blow the cover. then again, liverpool got their "bad" game out of the way last weekend already against sunderland and with the opportunity to go top, i can't see them playing this poorly(relatively) 2 games in a row. no play on spread for me.
spurs' d has been leaking goals lately and against liverpool's firepower on the road it could get ugly. it's alsonot a liverpool game without at least one adventure at the back lol and with adebayor back for spurs can see them sticking one too.
